So I finally fulfilled my dream of spending Thanksgiving in the White Mountains of NH. Only problem is I don't see any snow, and where the heck is TARGET or TOYS R US?

I'm dying up here. So, White Mountain Dis'ers, how the heck do I Black Friday shop when the only major store is Wal-Mart?

Can't help you much, other than to say: never count on snow at this time of year as it is usually too warm, unless there is a real blizzard that dumps 24 inches or so at a time.

My DH travels to NH and VT often and he complains endlessly about the lack of stores, fast food restaurants, etc. You really have to go to the major cities in order to find anything like Target or other large retailer. People go to NH and VT because it is "quaint" and not shop. My DH is usually very bored. Maybe other people have some ideas. He went last January and there was no snow at all, except some piles of snow at the edges of the road that hadn't melted yet.

where are you exactly? If you are near North Conway you could outlet shop:thumbsup2
there are also a bunch of cool shops on the Main St area of N Conway.

I'm right near Storyland, so a short ride to the outlets, but what i need is TARGET, and TOYS R US. I may hit Christmas Tree Shop and Walmart, but I think just knowing I cant get to a Target is killing me. I litterally have 5 Targets within a 25 minute driving radius from my house.

Bad news. The closet Target is probably 1.5 hours or more away. That's why my sister who lives in that area always spends the night with me here in the seacoast so we can hit the stores on BF. But, you are in a beautiful location so enjoy!

There is a Toys R Us express in Settlers Green and most of the outlets in there are having big sales. No Target close by though, unless your drive an hour and a hlaf.

There is a Walmart in Tilton (along iwith all the outlets), TRU and Target in Concord. I don't think there are any closer to the White Mountains. Conway has a lot of outlets, but no big box stores that I can think of off the top of my head.
