I've just read the loooong tip question and response. We tipped generously for our 4 positions. We also had a couples massage for, I think, $242.00. When we went to sign our bill we were given a long unwanted sales pitch and told it was customary to tip the massuses (spelling?) We were unfamiliar with this service but Chantelle was not about to let us out of the room without something for her. Julie was not as aggressive. In the end we gave them $15.00 apiece...the lowest amount suggested by Chantelle. I didn't appreciate the pressure sales pitch or the guilt put on us by Chantelle. Any other experience with this service? Thanks.

I tell them as soon as they walk in after I get dressed that I don't want to buy anything but I add a 20 percent tip on.

Wow, I've never had anyone in the spa pressure me for a tip! I customarily tip 20%, and the only thing they've ever said is, "Here is the slip to sign, and the line for gratuity is at your discretion."
As for the sales pitch, just write down that you don't want it when you fill out your treatment form. If they start with it, you can politely remind them by referring to your note. And if course if you are interested in a particular product, that doesn't preclude you from asking about it. My husband and I both LOVE the refreshing gel, and he is addicted to the bath salts.

We have never been pressured at the end of our treatments with regard to purchasing products either.

Hubby and I are with Barb..we love the refreshing gel..it is excellent. I also love the shampoos used in the salon..have been using them ever since our first disney cruise (you can order all the spa mdse from timetospa.com), after you cruise..so it works out great. The muscle relaxing oil is also fabulous..especially when used in combination with the gel...wow.

Don't do it! My wife and I had the couples treatment---and, while it was OK, I thought it was way overpriced compared with what we're use to at home (way less expensive and better massage)...
