Unless you are playing in the Curious George area, most of your "wet" is going to happen at IoA - the level of "wet" goes like this:

Jurassic Park River Adventure - splash-down wet -- kinda damp, and the closer to the 1st row, the more damp it can be!!

Dudley Do Right's Rip Saw Falls ( Which I think is in rehab right now - someone correct me if I'm wrong) WET!!! WET WET!! like, bring an extra shirt wet!!

Popeye & Blutos Bilge Rat Barges - OMG. A complete soaking. :cold: COMPLETE! However - I have seen people stash shoes (sneakers) in the middle compartment of the ride & have dry shoes to put on after - I usually wear flip flops - they dry quick & they are comfortable (to me)

HTH

I have a pair of Nike sandles I bought in 99. I only wear them to amusement parks for the purpose of avoiding wet sneakers. They are really ugly. Sort of dark purple and light purple swirled. Thin soled rubber and the tops have straps that are made of a sort of swim suit material only thicker. I love them. Amazingly don't hurt my feet. Dries quickly too.

Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges is a VERY wet ride but so much fun! You can store shoes in the middle and they remain dry. Don't waste your money on a poncho because the water comes underneath the poncho!! :rotfl2:

I was told Ripsaw Falls should be up and running soon if not already. The Bellman at RPR told us that Ripsaw Falls was being refurbished and one the objectives of the refurb was to make it less wet! :confused3

Jurassic Park last two rows are hit or miss when it comes to getting wet. Not really a big deal.

Hope this helps.

Like the other posters staid it's mostly at IOA. When we go to USO, I don't wear sneakers like I do at WDW. The parks are so compact that I found other shoes much more comfy. I love the Cole Haan sandals with teh Nike air bottoms...really comfy.

As far as getting wet, it's not wet feet that bother me it's the wet behind also known in my neck of the woods as Fisherman's A$$. Just the worst feeling, ewspically if you are wearing jeans or heavy shorts...I'll take wet feet over that anyday. That's why we make Popeye's ride the last before heading back to the room.

IOA you will get wet on just about every ride, from gentle spray on Spiderman to an ABSOLUTE SOAKING on Popeye's Barges.

You'll be fine with a poncho if you're poncho people on everything except Popeye. For Popeye I strongly recommend that you wear as little as possible. Ponchos will not help. REMOVE YOUR SHOES. This is a serious warning - you will literally POUR water out of them if you do not remove them. We tried telling a family this who rode on the same barge as us. They didn't believe us. They were very sorry by the end of the ride.

BTW no one will bat an eyelid if you wear a swimsuit beneath your clothes and remove your t-shirt for that ride. We wore our bikini tops underneath and took our t-shirts off and no one cared. In fact, we walked around the park all morning like that because there was just no point in keeping a t-shirt on since every ride got us wet.

REMOVE YOUR SHOES!!!!!!

They LET you ride w/o shoes?? Some places are funny and MAKE you wear SOME kind of shoes...... We'll be in flipflops and DS in aqua shoes :teeth: ....can't wait..... :hyper:

They won't let you on Popeye without shoes, but you have to work the system. Get your socks off and put your shoes back on with laces undone before you get on the ride. Wait till the ride attendant has left the boat and then get those shoes off and into the covered store pretty quick once they can't see you!
By the way, the more expensive, longer ponchos do work, you need to roll up your shorts a bit, tuck the back part of the poncho round tightly and than the front flap right over and under, seatbelt over the top. Water does sometime leak through and down the neck a bi, though we only had the odd wet bit.!
It is so much fun people watching folk get off this ride! They walk like they have got large wet diapers on, particularly those in jeans!! Hilarious on the 'cool' teenage lads! We just love spending time there.

They let us walk on it without any shoes on but do what granmaz said and be ready to whip the shoes off the moment you get on the ride. They let us walk off without any shoes on too :confused3

Seems it doesn't matter once you have been on the ride! We saw people take their shoes off in the queue and then have to put them back on before the ride, even go back for them. You must have slipped through the net!
Such a fun ride. It's great going on with those more smartly dressed people who haven't taken the time to watch people coming off the ride before joining the queue! :lmao: Some of them can be so annoyed after the ride too!

The announcement on the PA speakers for Popeye states you must have shoes on. I do what was mentioned up above. I take off my shoes and socks in the queue, then walk into the ride wearing only my shoes (no socks). I sit down, buckle my seat belt, then put my shoes, socks, and shirt into the middle compartment. It's really a formality, the ride ops know everyone is taking off their shoes, but they look the other way once you have the seat belt buckled. If everyone gets the belt buckled first, then the ride op will take a quick look, and walk away. Agree, ponchos don't help, you get soaked because the water comes in from the sides.

I usually bring two pair of shoes on my trips. One for going on the water rides in the morning (my old pair), and another for walking around in the afternoon (my new pair).

Wearing a bathing suit underneath a rashguard/swimshirt and a pair of board shorts( or any athletic shorts that dry quickly) works really well. If it is hot you will be dry again in about 30 minutes. As far as footwear, skip the sneakers in favor of a pair of sport sandals.

Crocs!

Our whole family wears crocs. Incredibly comfortable to walk in all day and you don't have to worry about them getting wet.

Ugly yes, comfortable and practicle - absolutely.
