ok give it to me straight

No telling. This year it was beautiful down here. The kiddos were still going to school in shorts, tees, and crocs. Next year though? Who knows. Also, the weather can change drastically over night. It was hot, hot, hot this past Jan for the marathon (on a Sunday) the next day it was a little chilly with jeans and a long sleeve shirt.

LOL I want to make some customs and I have no clue what to make becuase of iffy weather.

Should I do shortsleeves and then layer with a long sleeve under or just make sure everyone has good light weight jackets?

We've gone the first week of February for the past two years, and we've seen a variety of weather down there. My best advice is to check out weather.com before you go and get an idea of ballpark temperatures - then pack a little bit of everything. I bring shorts, light pants, t-shirts, and lightweight jackets. Most mornings we needed the jackets, but would shed them by early afternoon. We saw people in tank tops and in sweatshirts.

We love going during that time of year - even though we do roll the dice a little bit with the weather. We have been lucky so far - will we get lucky again? Who knows. :-)

We've always had lovely weather. At least several days of swimming, even though some mornings were spent in jackets and mittens!

Yes. layers are your friend!

We have gone that week alot and the weather can be all over the place. I have never worn shorts in January, I will look at the weather for the day and either wear short sleves and jacket or sweatshirt. I think it is to cold to swim. We have had a couple nights that were just plain cold and had to buy a blanket to watch fantasmic. But as another person posted, I see poeple wearing shorts and my hubby wears short sleves when I wont. I don't like being cold. We keep going back in January so guess for the most part all is good. Planning to go back in January 2009!!

disney4us91 that's when we're going, maybe we'll see you there!

these answers are what I was afraid of.

Are capris too cold? and crocs?

I would think that you can wear capri's, I think I have taken some. I do wear my crocs, but with socks:thumbsup2 I wear my jeans with black socks and red Mickey crocs so you can see the little black mickey heads showing through. I know alot of people can't stand socks with crocs, but you would not believe how many comments I got while we were there. Good comments that it!!

Just to let you know our trips in January are always the best thats why we keep going back, it's our favorite time to go. We just have to pack more clothes that we don't end up wearing so we can be prepared fr the weather, whatever it may be.

Oh no... you found the customs board and are now addicted. :scared1: I warn people all the time about that board. Oh sure, it starts out innocently enough with just looking at all the cute outfits and next thing you know you're pulling into the ocal fabric store just to look even though you don't know how to sew. Yep. I've seen it happen many times. :lmao:

Anyway, layers will be your friend. Look at outfits that you can put a peasant top or a long sleeve ragland under. You may end up having to cover the custom, but hopefully you won't -- except maybe at night.

We went Jan. 26 to Feb. 3 this year. The first few days we were there it was pretty chilly. The last week is was much warmer. So, cool then warm!!! I made my dd twirl skirts and some of the stripwork jumpers. I made short sleeve shirts to go with everything but also bought a bunch of long sleeve white and black t-shirts to layer underneath. I brough leggings to go under her skirts.

For ds, I made overalls and left them long. It worked out fine. Even when it was warm, it was not blazing hot so he was ok in the overalls.

I agree with the tanyaandallie...

We were also there January 25-Feb 1...the first 2 nights were COLD!! I believe it was in the 40's that first night we were in Epcot. I thought it might feel warm since we'd just left the balmy -10 temps in Michigan....but no, it still felt cold. By the end of the week, we were wearing shorts and crocs. I believe we hit the mid-70's by the end of our trip. We went swimming on our fourth day but if the sun hadn't been out, we'd have froze. The pools are heated (the lifeguard said the one at OKW was 83 degrees!) but in 60 degree temps with no sun, it got chilly.

In 2001, we went the first week of February. I remember it being cool and rainy for the first day and then it was shorts and tanks the rest of the week. It is really hit or miss.

The nice thing about the cooler weather is that you save money on beverages (unless it is so cold you have to buy coffee and hot cocoa!) and you aren't stuck waiting in lines with a bunch of sweaty people! In fact, after dark, when it was in the 40's, we ENJOYED huddling all together!:grouphug:

We love the end of Jan also because there are no lines. Also easy to get ADR. The weather can be chilly in the mornings and at night but usually a couple of very warm days...70's. So shorts, capri, light weight slacks. Short sleeve shirts with sweatshirt and lightweight jacket makes it all doable. It is great to get away from frigid Vermont in the winter!!!!!

We were there from the 20th to 29th of Jan and I didn't wear anything but shorts and t-shirts. The mornings were a bit cooler, but the sun was hot in the afternoons and shorts were the best bet. I was wearing the shorts and shirts and I saw CM's wearing, toques, mitts and parkas one am.

Another thing about that time of month, there were almost no lines. 90% of the time it was less than 10 minutes, and a couple times we waited about 20-30 for the big attractions. I only used a fast pass once in 4 days.

I seriously CAN NOT wait!! The last time we went was around labor day and it was horribly sweaty humid hot. We're looking forward to cooler.

As for customs if I can find our disney pictures on here some where I will post. When we went in 2003 I made tons of stuff for the kids. Of course nothing as elaborate as what is 'in' now but customs none the less LOL

The big girls will be 9 and turning 7, HSM is the big thing for the 9 yo and the 7 yo loves tink. Gabby will be 2 though then and will be the perfect age for twirls and the like!
