I've read countless post after post and thread after thread about the extreme rudeness that goes on in the mini games, most notably pirates. People think "ooh staff aren't watching me in this game and people can't report me while we're playing so let's go crazy!! Woo!". Obviously staff are doing little to nothing about this issue (and i'm usually on staff's side on these kind of issues) so we need to take matters into our own hands. No I don't mean go crazy and stoop to the other people's level, but here's some tips that I think can help cut down on this problem.

1. Write the offender's name down!!!! I can't stress this enough. There actually is a place where you can type in the players name rather than just click the person and report them from there. If it means losing the game because you are writing someone's name down, it's worth it because it may keep the streets of vmk safe from that one person.

2. Don't tell the person you are reporting them. Countless times I've seen arguments heat up 10 times worse when someone says they are going to report someone. The offender either makes up excuses, or rags on the reporter for tattle-tailing, etc... and it's just not a good picture.

3. Don't always use the Ignore button. Ok I know all the VMK staff will yell blasphemy at me for saying this, but I'm saying it. Half the time when you can't see the other person talking, you can miss something that he/she says that is twice as offensive as the original thing they say, that may break the VMK values big time by depicting explicit acts, words, etc.

4. Remind the person that it's just a game. This only mostly works with the small offenders who may just say you're bad at the game or a baby for running, but this statement has worked for me in the past.

5. Don't report every little thing. Remember, you may not take the person's sentance or statement the way they meant it. We've seen it right here on our board where someone was talking about calling someone "ugly" in the game meaning rude or offensive, but staff took it literally as calling another player unnattractive. Take time to read what the person is saying and try your best not to take it out of context.

I really hope these tips help because i know this is a problem that very many VMK'ers struggle with, and it's sad to see people get frustrated over the people who disregard VMK values and get away with it. It's just sad, but can we do anything about it? Not really. Can we make sure that we don't stoop to the other people's level? Yes we can, and that's the point I'm trying to make here.

1. Ok, I will
2. Ok, I'll stop
3.Ok, I won't
4. I'll do that too
5. Same as above.

Finally someone has an idea about how maybe VMK can change, FINALLY. I believe EVERYONE needs to read that post and really think about it. this could change all of the fights and things ppl do ( or at least a little ).THANK YOU FOR THE AWESOME IDEA!!!!! :thumbsup2

Yes. It gets extremely annoying when people continue to play but complain about it.

If you don't like it, stop playing. It's really not that hard unless you are some sort of addict.

Wow that is a little much don't you think?

If no one complains or offers suggestions to fix a problem the problem never gets solved.

Why should I or anyone else quit playing because we see a problem in VMK that needs addressing and call attention to it.

So if we are upset with others actions in game or a staff reaction we should just stop playing???

What does that solve? Why should we stop playing a game we enjoy 90% of the time.

While I think Cap most of your suggestions are really good ones I disagree that we as players can do nothing about the actions of other players and staff attitude in the game.

Action brings about change and change in this instance is good.

Yes you can do something about it and quitting does not help.

Write to Disney Corporate start with how much you love the game and what a great job VMK producers do with the game. Then address the issues that need addressing such as these players who dictionary dance by using allowed words for foul language in the game.

Again I am not talking about players who call others lose hers, bay be etc those while rude and juvenile are not to me reportable.

I hope by constructive criticism we can bring about postitive change.

I was actually refering more to the complaints such as "ARE THEY EVER GOING TO FIX PIRATES!!!!1!!111!!!" or people who complain about how others play when they aren't cheating or cursing at one another... your situation was completely different, Mal. In your case the actions and things that took place during that game did warrant action, and it was right of you to report it.

Does that make any sense? :confused3
