Trying to decide which night to get our MNSSHP tickets for. If accuweather says..a couple of thunderstoms possible. Does that mean....the heavens open up and it's like the end of the world coming rain....or is that Florida's afternoon twenty minute downpour?

Florida weather is tricky. In the past I haven't worried about the forecast too much. But, since we have to actually plan an outdoor event, I want to make sure I'm picking the best day.

Oh, by the way this is for next week.

I am going Sunday the 3rd...because that is when all of my friends are going... and many of them are going that day because they have FREE tickets for signing up for the 5K...

All that to say...it may be more crowded than some of the other days.

I have been watching the forecast, too.

Looks like Matthew will stay out of our way for now...which is good, because it was looking like he wanted to come hang out with us in Orlando. :(

Last year I OBSESSED over the weather for a December trip because a member of our party was quite sick and can't do cold weather or rain - and we had tickets to the Christmas party one night - which was supposed to be a rainy night - and it turned out PERFECT - great temperature, no rain and no crowds because everyone else had been scared to come, I guess.

So...I say go for it. Pick the best day for your family, bring some ponchos and come enjoy it. If it rains really, really bad and stuff is canceled, then it is my understanding that Disney *may* issue return tickets...just depends on how bad the weather is.

Who knows? Our rains this summer haven't followed the typical pattern at least here where I live. Yesterday we had hours of thunderstorms.

I went to the first MVMCP last year and it was rained out. They did allow me to get a ticket for another night.

In Florida andy forecast, other than a tropical sorm or hurricane, more than three days out is useless.

I'm agreeing with the other posters - Florida weather has been even weirder than usual this year. Some days we get the 20 minute shower and some days we get the 20 minute shower that lasts all night. Other days we're supposed to get scattered showers and it doesn't rain at all. It may be one good reason to get your tickets the day of the party, just in case the weather decides to be messy. Good luck & have a great time! :)

Bizarre question that probably doesn't have an answer. We have tix for MNSSHP for next Friday night. Assuming it gets rained out (and I'm really hoping this doesn't happen), will they do anything for us if we won't be in town for any other party nights? For example, might they give us passes to go to EPCOT or something?

Last year they were allowed people to exchange their party ticket for a one day ticket to Magic Kingdom. They have to make the decision to cancel the party first because of weather to get this option.

Thanks, Kathy. That's reassuring.

As long as it isn't monsooning during the races, I think I'm good.

Thanks guys. I'll probably wait until Tuesday to decide and then just pick up the ticket at will call. The weather forecast has been changing every day...I should just stop checking it and hope for the best...lol
