OK... First Question

I just got engaged in August (In Epcot!!!) and have already begun thinking about everything down to the very last detail. There seems to be a thread on here for just about everything except.....How did you have your nails done for your wedding. Did you have you and your girls all get manicure or did it not matter. I'm defiantly going for a Fall wedding and the colors will most likely be a very deep red. Going with that, did you brides out there stick with the traditional french manicure/pedi or did you go for something a little bolder. Pictures would be appreciated please, especially close ups of holding the bouquet. I know this is probably a weird request but I figured there are no weird requests when planning a wedding.

I don't have very good nails, so I had tips put on them. I had them done a little less than a week before the wedding before I went to Disney. My BM I don't think did anything, but she isn't into that stuff anyways. Normally I don't keep up with nails, but wanted them to look nice for the wedding.

thank you for your quick response and pictures. The thought had just popped in my head and I've wondered if I should go bold and do a darker red polish instead of a french. Thank you and I would love to see more peoples pictures and opinions.

I am doing a french mani/ pedi in December, however, I am not asking /telling my ladies what to do with their nails it is their perogative. We are going to go the day before the wedding to get mani/pedis as a group and as my gift to them so I'm guessing they will deside there.

I'm not doing a French. Originally I was going to do my signature Purple polish. But after I found my dress, I decided not to even though my colours for the wedding are purple and lilac/lavender....

I'm probably going to go with some sort of ivory/beigey/pinky/mauvey colour...LOL

(Obviously I haven't picked it out yet, I only have an idea in my head!)

I'm treating all the ladies from my new family that are coming (FMIl and FAIL-aunts in law - 3 ladies total) to a manicure. I haven't met the aunts before and they're all flying from Ireland, so I wanted to have some bonding time with just them.

I'm sure my niece will get hers done before she flies down...I think she does tips etc...I'm a natural nails type chick.

I am definitely not a French manicure kinda gal - I love color. I picked bright fucshia/hot pink/whatever you wanna call it cuz it was my super-secret stealth third wedding color. I don't have many closeups of my hands from the wedding day, but I think you can see my nails pretty well in these.

I took this crummy pic of them 3 days later to show how long my Perriwig's Salon manicure lasted (there was question about this at the time I got married )

I'm not a whole lot of help since our color was blue and I wasn't going to do blue nails so I went with a French (actually they were pink & white gels since I wear acrylics all the time, they held up wayyy better than a normal French)

I'm with lurkyloo! I'm going with a magenta/pink color as well. It is one of the 4 colors we have in our wedding and I just love bold hues. I also got a pashmina in the same vibrant shade. No pics yet. I'll get back to you in month!

Me too! I was gonna order a fuchsia pashmina and might dye my shoes fuchsia to match. I was gonna go with fuchsia on my nails as well. I need a little bit of color with that ivory dress.

I can't wait to see pics and hear how it all comes together!

at the time of wedding getting your proper manicure is a must. how can any body even think of not getting nails properly done at the time of wedding? this is the day you remember the most after your b'day, so it has to proper and color could be any depending on season or personal likening.

I hate having long nails but i plan on getting mine done a few days before we leave for our wedding. My cousin does them and she is always saying let me do your nails. well she will have her chance soon enough I will probably go with a french mani...I think it looks more wedding and classy.

I still can't decide. I was going to do a pink shade but I can't decide if I want to do that or just get the french manicure tips. The actual white tips are nice because its not painted on so it lasts. I can't decide. I will probably just go with the french since I have a ton of pink already going on in the wedding.

And, heck, who says they have to be long if you don't like them that way? Short manicured nails look great too!

Has anyone ever done solar nails? From what I hear it is just like a french manicure with the nails they put on but won't chip and lasts longer?!
