Who still owes them money?

I joined twice. Once around 1978 or 79 for albums, probably when this ad was current based on the Boston and Meat Loaf albums she’s holding.

Then around 1994 for CDs.

I’m not sure if I ever completed the contract either time.

I filled out the form so many times (for CDs) but never sent it in. However, I did cave and buy Time-Life's "Songs of the 70s." 10 CDs spanning the 1970s. What can I say? It was 3am, DD was about 6 years old and very sick, running a fever, I'd been up for a couple of nights with her... they hit me at a weak point and I fell for it! I am happy to say that I like most of the music on several of the CDs from this collection and take them with me when going on long drives- in the only car that has a CD player anymore.

(ETA: Hmmm... looks like ALDIOS folks are representing this morning...)

I bought that too! Love classic 70’s rock!! I don’t listen to CD’s anymore though, just use my phone app.

I think I do, too! I loved getting all those 8 tracks! 🤣
8 tracks were almost obsolete by the time I joined. I never had any, but some friends did. I didn’t like that some songs got interrupted midway thru while the tape switched from track 4 to 5.

Good times. Good times.

They went out of business before my contract was up. So technically if they started up again, they'd send me a notice that I have 7 CDs left to buy.

I liked them. I had a [really cool for the day] portable 8 track player that had great sound that I would take to hang out and everyone loved it [before the days of boom boxes]. It even had a shoulder strap, lol. I think only brought a few tapes at a time with me, so we got to know that music really well. That was one way we got to know all the songs on an album! :lmao: Some lucky people even had 8 track players in their cars! (I was lucky I had a radio in my rustbucket, but friends and family did, lol. I remember the tapes being all over the floor. By the time I could afford a decent car we’d moved on to cassettes.)

Mine was books. Although I fulfilled my contracts. I was/am Miss Goody Two Shoes. I always obeyed the rules. I was mortified to get a traffic ticket once. 😩 I now get all my books digitally through the library.

My wife thinks they still owe her an LP. Yup, back in the 1970's in the vinyl days. Some how both my wife and I skipped right over 8 tracks and went right to cassettes.

I still have my portable 8-track player in my closet, along with the few 8-track tapes I accumulated. Did yours separate into the two halves to maximize the stereo sound? I had an 8-track player in my home stereo system also, but by the time I was old enough to buy my first car cassettes were in vogue.

I did join the Club once, when CDs first became popular and used the initial cheap purchase to replace some of the vinyl and 8-tracks in the new format. I don’t remember how many full price I had to buy, but it wasn’t many, and I completed the terms fairly quickly before canceling.
