I just finished paying off my vacation and I want your opinions on what I paid. I am sure I could have gotten a better deal but I had no codes. OK..There are 5 of us ME, DW, DD13, DS11, & DD2 staying at Coronado Springs (water view) from April 17th - 24th. Then moving over to Universal Studios on the 24th - 27th.

Our airfare with all fees cost - $984.50 for 5 roundtrips (from PHL)
Coronado Springs cost - $2636.40 (water view) This includes our MYW tickets which are park hopper + plus
Food and Spending Money - $3500.00 Total
Trans from Dis to UStudio - $56.00 ($14.00 per person)
3 Nights at Best Western @ UStudios - $176.70 total ($58.90 a night)
3 day Tickets to Universal for 4 (DD2 not charged) - $427.80

That all comes to - $7781.40 for 10 days / $1556.28 per person / $155.63 per person per day

Does this sound fair :confused3

1. Airfare

I don't know much about airfare from PHL, so I probably can't help you there. Southwest released a $39+ each way fare recently and I think a few other airlines followed. Last year, when I booked on Southwest...I booked right when the rates for June were released. We booked at $130 round trip per person from New Orleans. A few months later, the $39 fare was released. I called Southwest and they lowered our fare down to $39 each way. It probably wouldn't hurt to call your airline to see if there are any cheaper rates available...but, I doubt you will get any cheaper on airfare with the date coming up so quickly.

2. Coronado Springs

Is this a package deal or a room-only with tickets seperate? If it's a room-only reservations, I would call Disney to see if they have a AAA rate. You may be able to save about $20+ per night on the room and all you would have to do is join AAA (usually around $50 total). That would probably save you about $100 for the 7 nights and you would have a membership with AAA for future trips, roadside service for breakdowns, etc. If you have a package, then it's too late to change anyway.

Everything else looks about right. $3500 may be a little high for spending money, but I don't know how your family eats or spends, so that's at your discretion. I'm bringing $100 per day for me, DW, and DS5. He has his own money saved for souvies and I have additional money saved for a couple of charater breakfasts and the pirate cruise for him.

I would mention AP rates...but, I think they are usually tough to get at Coronado Springs and the AP rates were not that big of a discount on values and moderates this year to warrant purchasing an AP or upgrading one of your existing passes just for the discount. Again, this is all moot if you have a package booked.

Have fun!
