Ok everyone, I have a confession to make...

Thanks for your reviews! Ok, I have another question for you guys. Is the meal a certain time limit say like twelve to one? Or how does that work?

There is a 90-minute time limit for all of them, if I am not mistaken. Usually, we don't even stay the full 90 minutes, but, for some reason, the last time at Goofy's, after a couple of trips to the buffet (those mini-muffins are scrumptious and the fruit is fresh and delectable!), we stayed a few minutes past the 90 minute limit, but didn't realize it. The characters were a little slow to get to our side of the restaurant that morning, so maybe that caused us to stay longer than we would have. It's not like they come along and push you out the door or anything when it reaches 90 minutes, but the servers will stop by your table a lot and keep asking if you need anything else (subtle hints to leave!).

We love Goofy's for brunch (sometimes after a busy super early Magic Morning, we come back to Goofy's around 10:30-11:00 to unwind and relax for a bit). We have always enjoyed the food, and the character interaction has been fun -- have seen both the Mad Hatter and Alice here a few times.

Ariel's has really good food, and the princess interaction is wonderful. Took my 19 year old semi-Goth step daughter and 3 year old granddaughter who is crazy for princesses, and it was hilarious, we had a blast.

I booked the Surf's Up breakfast this trip for our departure day -- I know it's a Mickey meal now, but I hope that Stitch still shows up too, because he is my DH's favorite :stitch2:

I must be in the minority. I've been to Disneyland dozens of times and never done a character meal. I think it's the idea of spending all that money that I could spend on other things.

Character meals are really great especially when you have little kids with you because waiting in line to meet the characters, sometimes a very long wait, sometimes in the hot sun, sometimes you get there just a couple of minutes late and the characters have to go on break, and the little ones are so disappointed. So instead, you get to enjoy a leisurely meal, the characters come up to your table one by one, the kids get to meet them, chat (sometimes really fun interactions), get autographs, and some wonderful pictures. They cost a bit more than regular meals -- but food at Disney isn't cheap no matter where you go -- but the time and frustration they save help to balance that out. So one or two character meals per trip are a lot of fun and worth the price for those reasons, IMHO. And even on an adults only trip, they're still fun and enjoyable, the photo ops are great, and if the characters are super swamped, they will sometimes "play" with you a bit, and that's part of the magic of Disney. :goodvibes

We are in the exact place. We have been to Disneyland countless times and never once thought about doing A character meal because of the price.
