I just switched some reservations around so I would be able to include cape may clambake ( I couldn't resist those pics of all those crab legs). Anyway, I think I messed up because now I don't know when we'll be able to get to the MK for fireworks. Would anyone mind looking at my newly revised ADR and tell me if they think there is ANY night I would be able to get over to MK in time for fireworks.....just ONE night?

Sunday 5/16 (MK closes at 5pm) but dinner at citricos at 6pm
Monday 5/17 - 805pm - Whispering canyon
Tuesday 5/18 - 725pm - Narcoossee's
Wednesday 5/19 - 620pm - Brown Derby followed by Fantasmic
Thursday 5/20 - 805pm - cape may clambake
Friday 5/21 - 705pm - Flying Fish
Saturday 5/22 - 720pm - coral reef
Sunday 5/23 - 730pm - california Grill

Anyone? Any suggestions? I think worse case scenario we can skip fantasmic and go over to MK ....its my DD7 first trip and it is a MUST to be at the castle for fireworks at least one night

I'm not sure what time the fireworks are, but I would think the California Grill night, you should be able to see them from the restaurant. Everyone raves about the excellent views from there.

You might want to read some reviews of Cape May Cafe paying special attention to comments about the crab legs. I seem to have read a lot of negative comments about them lately - I'd definitely give up a buffet (especially in the midst of what looks like several much better dining choices on other nights) for the pleasure of seeing Wishes IN the park. It's nice from California Grill but nothing beats seeing it with the castle in the foreground and the fireworks in their proper place in relation to the castle.

Take the boat from Whispering Canyon directly to MK on 05/17. But if your ADR is 20 minute late, 1 hour to eat, 15 minute max boat wait, 8 minute boat ride and 20 minutes to get in the park, you'll be cutting it close. May want to move that ADR back an hour if you can, but I think that boat directly to MK on the 17th is your best bet.

5/18 Wishes is at 9pm. 5/23 at 10pm. 10pm I don't see a problem at all with you making it to the park for (but you may not want to).

Keep in mind you will see them from where you are on these nights anyway. I rarely watch Wishes from the park anymore. The relaxing atmosphere of any (poly is my fave. Pull up a beach chair and watch!) of the MK resorts makes up for maybe not having the best sound or having it centred.

We ate there in March, and everything was excellent - it was actually the best TS meal I had. Of course, every place has off nights.

I agree with the poster who suggested pushing back your ADR for Whispering Canyon. The boat ride from WL to MK is really convenient, but just in case things run late, try to push it back. Enjoy! :)

Ok thank you for the suggestions. Last night when I just HAD to rearrange things there were no earlier reservations for Whispering canyon. However, I thought I would give it another try this mornign and lo and behold I has able to get one for 515pm on the 17th!! Woot....problem solved, knew I could count on you guys

We ate there in February and it was one of our worst meals. We waited an hour past our ADR time, the service was lacking at best and the food was not at all good. The crab legs were stringy and stuck to the shells, the peel and eat shrimp was warm, the shrimp in every other dish was over cooked and rubbery, we never once saw steak of any sort, the ribs were tough and the veggie sides were constantly in need of being replenished. It was horrible which was quite disappointing considering how wonderful their breakfast is.

Wishes is at 9:00pm on 5/18 so you may be able to watch from Narcossees, and at 10:00pm on 5/23 so you may want to head out to the deck after dinner and watch from the Cali Grill. You could head to the park on you Whispering Canyon night, but also try to take advantage of the lovely veiw of Wishes at the restaurants.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Maybe we got lucky or they got new cooking staff, because everything we had was excellent. The lobster tortellini and the fried shrimp were the best things I had at WDW and the ribs and prime rib were delicious. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I guess YMMV :confused3

I honestly wonder if it was just an off night when we went because it does tend to get solid reviews. I suspect that we will try it again at some point but it didn't make our ADR wish list for our March trip.

Glad to hear everything worked out! I have always enjoyed the dinner buffet at Cape May Cafe. It's not one of my favorites, but it's worth a visit every couple years.

I'm so glad you did not have to cut out FANTASMIC! I think it is a WONDERFUL show. Glad it worked out for your WC ressie to get moved earlier so you can get to MK to see the fireworks in the MK.

Have a great trip. Hope its very magical for your little girl
