Hi all!!!!:hyper:

I have just been looking at some of the aerial pics of the parks and was wondering if you wonderful people could help me out on ratings for the bigger and popular rides!

Now the reason I am asking this is because I once thought I could go on any ride and it wouldnt bother me!

Well this changed as soon as I tried 'The Pepsi Max Big one' in Blackpool - I was blimmin terrified!!! and to the point where I didnt enjoy it all and was a wreck and couldnt go on anything for the rest of the day. I dont know if it was the actual rollercoaster or the height of it (as its all built over the height of the buildings in the Blackpool pleasure Beach). (I also found out I was scared of heights after this ride and going up the Blackpool tower)

Anyway some of the rides at the parks in Orlando look great but I just wondered if anyone out there has been on the Big One in Blackpool and thinks any of the ones in Orlando are scarier than this - I would much appreciate if you could let me know so I know what to avoid - it would save me ruining the day at any of the parks and being unable to go on any other rides.

Thank you!!!:hyper: :Pinkbounc :wave2: :earseek: :earseek:

I have rode the Big One at Blackpool, its great. I love all of the fast, tall roller coasters. I can't really think of anyones that are extremely high, but they are over and done with so quick that you hardly realise where you are.

If you have been on the Big One im sure you will be able to withstand the rides at Disney. The only one i didn't go on was Tower of Terror as I hate drop rides.

Thanks Lisa - I hope I will be able to go on everything!!! I'd hate to have that feeling that there was something I didnt do!

PS - just wanted to say cool name too!!! Im Lisa and I was born in 1976 too!!! (probably not that much of a coincidence but hey!)

Hi

I live in sunny blackpool and iv rode the big one,im sure nothing can match it.we are off on our first trip too disney in a couple of weeks so im sure i will soon find out.

I havent rode the Big One.But just had to reply and say I HATE RIDES LIKE THESE hehe! I've had a fear of rides since i was little.
The tea cups are more for me.

Dp has rode the big one, he's also been on tower of terror, and most of the ride in disneyworld, he likes them all, he did have a little fright on the tower of terror though.

I'm Sure you'll enjoy them :)

Hi Lisa

Thanks :D Im a June baby.

I went on a ride at and hated it, I knew as soon as I had got on it and it started to move i wasn't going to like it, so i shut my eyes all the way round and was grateful to get off it, but at least i can say i went on it, would never do it again mind. :teeth:

I’m no big scary ride fan but I’ll have to become one as my daughters will be tall enough on our next trip to ride The Hulk, Tower of Terror etc. However my brother in law is a scary ride fan and he told me The Big One is way scarier than anything he’s been on at any Disney or Universal. He said the rides in Florida seem to be engineered to give a smoother, more flowing ride and he did not get the feeling of fear that he did on The Big One. My wife did go on the Tower of Terror and said it was the most horrible thing she’s been on in her life!!

My son goes on everything and he said that the Big One was very different from the Disney/Universal rides. He wasn't scared but he could understand why someone might be! He said it was useful though 'cause he and his mates were going to watch Blackpool play Bristol in the afternoon and from the top of the Big One they were able to locate the footie ground!

I absolutely love all the thrill rides in Orlando - done every one at WDW, US/IOA and BG at least twice - BUT I have to agree with Martinius' brother in law. The Big One is definitely scarier. So much so, that I have never been on it - despite living very nearby. I think it just looks so high, being just on the sea front with no buildings in front of it. DH says it's not really scary - just a long slow climb and then a very quick plummet down - but I'd rather not try it!

Maybe there's just something different in the air in Florida that makes me feel a lot braver! Or maybe it's just that I want to experience everything that Orlando has to offer while I'm there!

The Big One is a one-hit-wonder ... it's all about that first (admittedly potentially terrifying) drop - after that, it's just a succession of tighter and tighter curves to keep up some feeling of speed, but the ride's really over. The view from the top's pretty good, though!

On another note, it's tatty already, and, like the rest of the Pleasure Beach, nooooo comparison to the Orlando parks. (Why are we so happy to accept mediocrity in the UK?)

Mike:confused:

Thanks everyone!!! Its reassuring to know that nothing out there will be as bad as the BG in Blackpool!! As I said before I dont know whether it was the ride itself or the sheer height of it!!! At least I can now go out there and be prepared for anything!!
