What is this pin trading that I keep hearing about? And what is lanyard? Again sorry but the last time I was at Disney was 27 years ago!:confused3

If you go to the disney collectibles forum there are tones of threads about pin trading. You buy disney pins and trade them during your visit to the parks with the park employees (CM). A lanyard is something you wear around your neck. It is made of disney themed material and the pins stick through it. Hope that wasn't to confusing. Go to ebay and enter "disney lanyard" to get a better idea. If you want better info check out the collectibles forum.

I love to collect the pins no tradeing here yet.

At the disney parks, any Cast member will trade a pin they are wearing on their pin lanyard (pin necklace thing) for another Disney Pin. So it is a very low stress way to trade. Some other people will trade pins as well, but they may be more picky in what they are trading for. A good way to do it is to buy a lot (as in a set) of Disney pins off Ebay, and then pick a theme and trade your pins for the ones you want. Like maybe you want to collect Pooh pins or Stitch or princesses or ride pins or hotel pins or whatever. By buying them off ebay (make sure they are official disney pins), it is a lot cheaper.

I just bought my first four pins on ebay today. I am so excited. We are going in June and I am going to get the kids about 8 pins each to trade. We live about 45miuntes from the disney store. I am planning a trip on Friday, to see if they have any cheap or on sale. We might buy more expensive pins at DW for the kids to keep, but plan on buying cheaper (price not quality) to trade. Good luck to everyone who is trying it for the firts time. Us newbies have to stick together...lol
