OK All You US/IOA Commando Types....

After ten successful Disney visits with our two kids (8 and 6) we're making the switch this summer to Universal. I can plan Disney with the best of them but need some help making certain that my planning is just as good for these "foreign" parks. What tips do you have for a four day visit while staying at RP?

Since you are staying on site there is NO NEED to go commando. That's what's so great about the Universal parks and hotels. You will have automatic express access all day, so you won't have to wait in lines. Four days will give you ample time to do the things you want to do at both parks and enjoy some time at the RPR pool and CityWalk. Go when the parks open, take an afternoon hreak, and go back to the parks in the evening. If you're used to doing WDW, this will be a piece of cake.

Four days at RP, wow. You won't need any commando plans. With your magic room key, you'll get on everything with little waits. If you wanna tour the park with small crowds in the walkways, get there at 08:30am before the gate opens. Plus you wanna get your ride on Pteranodon Flyers because the magic key doesn't work on that one. Around noon the crowd arrives, place is packed, and it's hot. That's when you go back to RP for an afternoon swim. Then come back at night as the crowd is leaving. You'll have enough time to visit Sea World Florida (SWF) if you want.

How many days were you planning on spending in the parks? If it is one day in each park then you may need to plan a bit. The FOTL will help enormously though.

I would suggest you go to Jimmy Neutron first since it is a brand new ride at US and at IOA I would go to the back of the park and ride Pteradon Flyers first, since there is not a FOTL pass for this. Fun ride - but I wouldn't want to wait too long for it.
