Salutations fellow Ohioans!
Our last 3 Disney trips in the last 3 years we have drove. It has been a long time since I have even looked at airfare.
My best friend wants to send me and hubby for Disney for my birthday! I need help finding airfare for soon, and am willing to use CAK, CLE or even drive to PIT Pennsylvania, or if you have any ideas on roundtrip, preferably nonstop for 2 adults.
Websites, or additional airports within a 3 hour drive or so.
Our dates are somewhat flexible as soon at July 29 for a week
TIA
Missy

Do they do magical express? Tampa? or does it have to be Orlando and then pay for a rental car or car service? I would rather fly out of somewhere different than Cleveland, and be able to drive our own car there?

We usually find that Pittsburgh is cheaper.

We are doing an Alaskan cruise next summer and I have started to research air and it looks like it will be cheapest for us to fly out of Detroit.

Magical Express is only at Orlando International airport (MCO). FYI, Orlando Sanford airport does not offer Magical Express either.

If you aren't set on using Magical Express then you could also fly Youngstown-Warren regional into SFB and just drive into Orlando. They're typically significantly cheaper than the others but have very few flights so you'd pretty much have to plan around their schedule. Otherwise the cheapest I found was PIT- MCO on Southwest.

Also check Columbus. Nice Airport. I find they are cheaper than PIT. You'll want to fly to MCO and get Magical Express service to WDW. You won't need a car then, and can save that expense.

We live near Dayton and for us it's cheaper to fly into Orlando (non-stop) on Southwest (free bags) and take ME to the resort. Although renting a car is reasonable and super easy from Orlando if you choose Alamo. We have flown into Tampa several times (family lives nearby) and like Orlando much better. Check with the airport closest to you first. I have checked Columbus and Cincy and they are usually more than Dayton and the parking wasn't as close or cheap.

Another vote for Dayton airport. They have non-stop flights into Orlando, and it's a small airport, easy to get around. Easy to drive to as well.

Flown out of PIT, Columbus, and Dayton and it all depends on which one is cheapest. Check all 3 for best deal.

We always flew out of CAK, until the past few trips! AirTran prices have jumped so much that it was cheaper last trip to drive to Columbus, spend the night in a hotel on-site, fly SW, and spend a night when we got back. All totaled, it was less than AT fare. This trip, we lucked into $99 each way on Frontier, out of Cleveland. Not really thrilled with this one, since Cleveland is an almost 2 hour drive, but worth the savings. Check your options!

Hello! last summer we flew out of Columbus using Southwest. We found a fairly cheap hotel near the airport and went down the night before. It was cheaper than Detroit, Toledo or Cleveland. (I live 20-25 miles from Cedar Point). Parked at the airport at the outermost lot and took the shuttle to the terminal. Hope this helps.

Another vote for Columbus on Southwest OR check Frontier out of Cleveland - they were offering some great fares for this summer.

When I fly to Orlando, I almost always fly AirTran out of CAK. There are direct flights that fly daily into MCO. You can also get some direct flights out of CLE at a similiar price but I hate United and that is one of the direct flights from CLE. PIT (at the times I looked in the past) was always more expensive so I stayed with CAK and CLE. Best of luck with whomever you choose. I am heading that way later in the week!
