Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that this past Tuesday we went to 'Ohana without an ADR and had no problem getting in. There were 11 of us in our party and we had a ressie at Kona and just decided to try our luck at 'Ohana because we really wanted to go there. I waited in line to check in, asked if they were accepting walk ins and they said no problem and we waited for about 5 minutes and got in. the person in front of me also didn't have an ADR and she had a party of 4 and was told there would be an hour to an hour and a half wait. I'm not sure why I got so lucky but I guess it doesn't hurt to try and the food was fabulous!!

This happened probably around 5:15 or so. I had meant to be there earlier but they had some kind of problem with the monorail. Our reservations were at Kona for 5:20 so I wasn't even going to try to get into 'Ohana but thought I would give it a try once we got there.

We usually end up scrapping one of our last reservations so we can go to 'Ohana again before we have to go home. We've had great luck...even when the reservation system says they're full we've gotten in. Disney restaurants have many no-shows, especially later at night when kids are tired and cranky.

I think you were successful because you tried this right as they were opening up for dinner. And they do have large tables for larger parties. Maybe they weren't expecting a large party until later that evening.

WOW, were you lucky. I tried for 2 months prior to our mid February trip to get a ressie for 'Ohana for any one of 4 mid week nights and was unsuccessful, we went to the restaurant one evening at about 5:30pm and was told that they were taking no walk ups at that time and wouldn't even put our name on the "list", but we could come back at about 7:30pm and they could add our name to the list and then it would be approximately 9:00pm till we could get a table. Needless to say, we scrapped that idea and ate elsewhere. We're hoping to snag a ressie for our late September trip at the 90day mark.

I've been trying.. and trying.. and trying to get an ADR for next week. No luck whatsoever. Aside from walk-up, has anyone had luck calling the same-day and getting an ADR first thing in the morning? Does Disney even "hold" back any tables for same day dining?

I would definitely say keep trying, I had been calling everyday up until that morning as well and was told that 'Ohana was completely booked. The only reason I tried to walk up and get in was because we were there anyway for our Kona reservation but I guess we got lucky. I will keep my fingers crossed for everyone!

Thanks! I hope your pixie dust rubs off on me next week! :wizard:

As far as I know, they don't hold any tables for same day dining. However, calling that day has worked many times for us, & I know other people have had luck as well.
