Hi, we have a late seating for Ohana's for 8 people, one of which will be coming from a conference dinner right before. Will it be a problem if he just joins us and gets dessert or a drink or will we have to pay for his dinner?

There is no a la carte dessert there; it's included in the price of the meal, so I'm not sure how that would be done.

They have a dessert menu, so I don't see that there would be a problem.

Are you sure? I thought with the new menu they only had the one (included) dessert now. I could be wrong, but this is the assumption I made when I saw the new menu.

I too thought they took off the dessert menu. Besides the banana bread pudding that comes with the meal there is only one other dessert offered. That would be the giant snocone in a bucket complete with shovel!

On our recent trip, my son was feeling ill the AM we went to Chef Mickeys, so he stayed at the hotel, we all (12 of us) ate, and near the end, in comes my son, feeling better, but not wanting to eat - the server charges us for coffee and he was able to join us and just have his coffee (which is included in the meal).....I think they could just charge for dessert portion and let him join you!

Looks like the creme brulee is gone as well ? I haven't eaten there since 8/02 but we loved that dessert.
I can't imagine they couldn't accomodate your request because the food is brought out and removed from the table frequently. By the time your guest arrived, I would assume the servers would be done bringing out the food ? Is your late arriving guest included in the ps for 8 ? If so, I'd bring it to the attention of the server as soon as you are seated that they won't be arriving until dessert/coffee. Just so you don't get automatically charge full price.

You might try calling ahead to the restaurant. We've been a few times and a friend decided to join us on a trip a year ago. He doesn't eat meat, but we'd already made reservations, so we went anyway. They actually allowed him to order off the Kona Cafe menu. It's worth asking about, because they had some yummy choices.

Enjoy your trip!

We ate there last weekend..my DS ate 3 pieces of pizza right before we arrived at Ohanas. He wasn't hungry and only ordered a drink and dessert..They told him the only dessert on the menu now were the bread pudding and the bucket with the flavored ice...he got the ice. So yes you can get just dessert and a drink!! :sunny:
