Dh and I are debating on trying Ohana's. We have never eaten there but have heard from others it is good. Can anyone enlighten us as to their experience and if they felt they got their money's worth?

was going to just say "no" but i had to add 5 more letters so i may as well spill my guts. our service stunk, the food was uneven to say it nicely and we were stuck out in the back pasture someplace so couldn't see anything of the 'entertainment'. we had asked for a table to see the firewords...waited an extra 45 mins.( in Jan which is dead) for one and guess what we couldn't see them anyway. we were stuck behind a building type thing. the wings, salad were good the rest of the meat was bone dry, blech., i liked the shrimp husband didn't.the sides are different now so no need to comment on them. all in all we would not go back.

We ate there a month ago. Our experience was almost identical to jann1033's. So, I won't bore you with going over the details again. In particular, however, we thought the food quality was poor -- very tough beef and pork that was full of gristle.

Suffice it to say, we will not return.

Well...I'll go with a different opinion. We have dinner their twice and had a good time. I have a teenage daughter who enjoy's O'hana's. It has always been fun, and to have fun with staff, during, befor and after the meal. The one thing I regret was not making a PS for our trip back in April. We were unable to eat there this time. With what it cost eat at WDW, we have found that the money was well spent at O'Hana.

That's my 2cents

we've always had pleasurable meals there. personally, I've always felt it to be overpriced for the return on food quality. but our family still loves to go.

we just got back and ate there Sunday, it was the best table service all week!!

Our server was GREAT the kids loved the entertainment and dancing and the food was excellent!!! The banana bread pudding was fabulous and the steak was pink and tender! Shrimp was plump and juicy and the salad was excellent!! We loved this place, SOOOO MUCH FOOD!!! Go very hungry!!

I'd say go too, while we did wait 30 minutes we were late(ckecked out DVC), food was great and service was good, after Jiko it was our favorite meal........

We just ate there and loved it! We were seated right in front of the fire pit and right where they do the hulu hoop contest and coconut races. (which the kids absolutely loved)

I was a bit nervous after all the bad reviews lately, but I like to keep an open mind. I am glad I didn't cancel our ADR because it was one of the highlights of our trip. We loved the salad, wontons, wings, shrimp and the beef was really good. The rest of the meat was a bit dry but we were so full from the rest of the stuff we didn't have much room for a lot of the meat any how. I didn't care much for their vegetables. Wish they still has the green beans. The sausage was the only thing I didn't like at all. The banana bread pudding was delicious.

We had a perfect view of wishes too! It was pure Disney magic that night! :cloud9: :wizard: I would definitely go back to 'Ohana.

Hubby and I did not care for it. With the recent menu changes I think we would like it even less.

If you want to have a great meal over at Polynesian resort, go to Kona Cafe, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Yummy!

We ate there last week and did not care for it. Service was bad and the food was not great either. We used the free dining plan so while I was definitely disappointed, I didn't really feel cheated by the overpriced menu. I would not pay for a meal here out of pocket.

We just got back, had dinner at Ohana on Sept. 30th, it was soooo good, my DH wanted me to book another ADR during the trip but all the dinners were overbooked already. We had a nice server, got virgin pina coladas for a beverage on the dining plan, sooo good! We don't usually eat salads at a buffet, but the salad they had was wonderful, we loved the chicken wings and the sauteed shrimp, I finished the whole serving! The potatoes I didn't care for because it tasted too buttery, but that's because I don't like the taste of butter, the vegetables I did not try. The deep fried wontons were good, did not bother to eat the wonton chips. The meat was really good, not dry at all, and we are both meat lovers, loved the steak, cooked medium with peanut sauce, sausage was alright. Dessert was great, we were stuffed but still managed to finish it, well my DH ate most of it. I think that restaurant is busy all the time, must be difficult for the servers to handle sometimes. I'm sure the skewered meat is a hit or miss cause it would be difficult to have every single piece of meat cooked to perfection with the amount of people they have to cook for. I would give it a try, we ate at a lot of restaurants on our trip but Ohana was our favourite. :flower:

'Ohana is a favorite of mine. Haven't tried the new menu yet, though.
I've been there three times in the past 6 years (latest was 1 1/2 years ago) so I am sure things are a little different.
The last time, I had fresh food, tons and tons of refills, (three bowls of the wontons alone!) meats were done well, but not dry, very flavorful marinades, and sweet, fresh pineapple for dessert. Pina coladas were simply the best I've ever had anywhere (better than Mexico, Key West, really upscale places)

I have to say thouugh the foood was okay, when we went the service was really rushing us.
My girls loved the activities but there was a very large family there, maybe 60 to 80 people and they really catered to the children from the party. In a way I understood.
The part that really bothered me was how rushed we were being.
