Am thinking about trying Ohanas for breakfast.

We always do the Crystal Palace and thought about trying something new.

We will be staying at Port Orleans and was thinking about a 10:00 am ressie.

Opinions,
Thanks

Hi,
I would love this info too.. My kids are huge Stitch fans but not staying there. I'm hoping to stay a Pop on my next trip and wanted anyone's opinion about getting to Poly in the morning via Disney Transportation. Would I be better off just getting a cab? Last trip we went to Beach Club from Pop and it took me 1 1/2 hours to get there due to bussing and going to DTD to get a bus to the beach club. I was wondering how many people go to other hotels for breakfast and how that works out!

sounds like a marvelous idea to me!

Our family usually does this on our last day at WDW...and we will again this year...kind of a going away...saying goodbye to the Poly/WDW. I s ay go for it.

Cheers,
Josh

We did the Ohana breakfast last month and loved it! We decided to drive our own car over because we had a 7:40 reservation. If we had a later one, I would do the buses and just plan to get there early. It's so much fun to look around the resort, and the shops have some neat stuff.
This was our first character breakfast. We'd like to try some others, but this one was so nice, it will be hard to choose something else over it.

We did the Ohana breakfast on our last trip, b/c my DS8 loves Stitch. In that respect it was great. Also, the parade that the kids do was a lot of fun to watch, and my DS's had a blast. As far as the food, I thought they had better food at Chef Mickey's. However, on our next trip if my DS's pick the Ohana breakfast, we will do it. Picking which character breakfast is one thing I leave up to our DS's when planning our trips.
We stayed at the WL, so we took the boat shuttle to the CR and then took the monorail to the Poly. Depending on how early your breakfast is, you can take the bus to the MK and then either taking the boat or the monorail to the Poly.

What is the food like?

We have been for dinner but never breakfast.
Thanks
Lisa

We did Ohana for breakfast back in April with or then 4 year old daughter. We ALL loved it! Really good character interaction, and GREAT food choices. :goodvibes Pretty much a choice of any type of breakfast foods you can think of, including of course those marvelous Mickey Head waffles. :)

Highly recommended!

Well when we were there October of 2006, it was less of what I consider a buffet. It was more like an all you can eat "family" service skillet. Here is a sample menu from it http://www.allears.net/menu/menu_ohb.htm. As far as having a variety of food choices, I still think Chef Mickey's has a much better selection. Here is a sample menu for Chef Mickey's http://www.allears.net/menu/menu_cmb.htm
Ohana is a good character breakfast to go to if your kids are Stitch fans like mine. You know you're kids will get to see Stitch without wasting time in the parks standing in line to see him. I am hoping to go to Donald's Breakfastosaurus on our next trip, because my DH loves Donald. I will just have to wait and see which one the DS's pick.

We are doing this for the first time in Dec. on our last day. I made 10:30 ADRs to have enough time to pack, checkout of the resort - POFQ - and take a bus to TTC then the monorail to the Poly. I don't see transportation as an issue unless you have really, really early ADRs.

I definitely would recommend Ohana's. My DH and I went there last year for breakfast (no kids, but we both love Stitch). The kids there were having a blast with the characters and even had them in a parade of sorts. I thought the food was pretty good as well, not the best, but pretty tasty. Although I could have eaten that pineapple bread for days yum.

As far as transportation goes, if it's very early in the morning I recommend a taxi or a your rental car, if you have one. We had a very early ressie about 7:30ish and decided to take the bus from AKL over to MK and then hop on the monorail. BIG Mistake. We left a solid 30 minutes before our ressies and were 20 minutes late - b/c of the monorail. The bus was no problem, but once we got on the monorail at MK and stopped at the Contemporary we got "stuck" there. I think the drivers didn't realize they had passengers because after ten minutes of sitting there, we popped out to let them know we were there. The driver was busy chatting away with the cast member at the Contemporary. Even after she saw us, we still didn't leave for several minutes. Once we got to the TTC we got off and decided to walk (another big mistake as it's not exactly a hop, skip and jump away). And to top it off, the monorail driver got nasty with us and said the next stop was the Poly. We told her we were already late and couldn't wait as long as we had at the Contemporary. As soon as we got off, she took off. Go figure. Fortunately, the CM's were very nice at Ohana's and honored our ressies. Lesson learned.

That sounds good! Thanks for the transportation info. Yes, I figured I would take the bus from Pop and then take monorail to Poly. I am still shell shocked from my "pilgrimage" to the Beach Club in May! lol... I took a bus from Pop to DTD then got on the Beach Club bus.. I must have timed it bad cause I waited long for both busses then when you get on the bus from DTD it stops at like 4 resorts and Blizzard Beach! I gave myself 2 hours advance figuring we would have plenty of time to walk around BC. We barely made it!
However, that was my ONLY complaint during my last trip so I guess I did pretty good! lol...

My DS6 loved the Ohana breakfast in March 2006. It was his favorite meal of the trip. The food is served "family style." When we were there, they brought out fresh fruit, mickey waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage links, bacon, etc. and would refill it as needed. Our DS6 and DS15 ate and ate and ate and ate.

The character interaction was great. Stitch was being, well, Stitch and really aggravated the snot out of my DS15 - which, of course, DS6 absolutely loved.

Like a previous poster, I'd recommend taking the bus to MK and then taking the boat over the Poly if you have a mid-morning ressie. Taking the boat made it even more special and it was a beautiful ride over the resort.
