Ohana's at 10:20 a.m..... Questions.

I tried to find some answers to my questions, but couldn't really figure out what to put in the search, so.......

First, I'm excited to get a reservation! We are staying at the Poly and I've looked and looked trying to get in....... Today I hope on there and bang! There's an opening!

1. Is this a descent time? It's towards the end of their breakfast service, so will this effect characters, the parade, etc?

2. What are your thoughts on this times effects on going to a park. Not really sure what park we will hit that day..... We do have park hopper passes.

3. Anything else I'm missing..... Any and all input welcome!

It should be fine. I can't answer about the parade, not sure which one you are talking about.
But the characters should be still circulating for breakfast people.

I'm personally fond of late breakfast seatings. They feel less rushed IMO. We did this very ADR in August and enjoyed it.

Character interactions I don't think are better or worse than any other time. We had lots of fun with Lilo but Stitch seemed to want to just get a quick picture and move on. It's very hit or miss if you'll just get a quick photo or you'll get interaction just like with any character meal. We had to wait until near the end of our meal for 3 of the 4 characters but I think that's more about where they happen to be when we arrived rather than time of day if that makes any sense. We did see them all and enjoyed ourselves and also enjoyed our food. I do believe I recall there being a parade during our meal but my oldest wasn't interested (she's too mature for that; sigh) and my youngest agreed that it was more trouble than it was worth since she was in a wheelchair that trip so it really doesn't stand out in my memory. The only reason I remember it at all is that I think it started just before one of the characters was due to hit our area.

One thing you need to be prepared for is a long wait to be seated. Once 'Ohana opens, it gets progressively more and more behind on the ADRs. If you're prepared for this then it doesn't seem like as big of a deal as it is when you don't expect it.

Are you planning to go to a park before breakfast? The only one worth going to that morning is MK and only if you get there in time to watch the park opening show. You won't get a lot done before you have to leave but you could hit a couple attractions. After breakfast, you can easily go to any park of your choice. You won't get to a park probably until noon at the absolute earliest, likely later (MK you may make it by then).

Last year we had a 10:30 breakfast at 'Ohana. It was great! The food was still fresh and delicious, the characters were very attentive to these 2 adults picking on us and messing around with us during our pictures.
Are you referring to the little run around the restaurant that Stitch leads with all the children? That still happens.
All in all, I don't think the late breakfast interaction is much different from the first of the morning.
We had booked this late breakfast for the day after MNSSHP and then headed to Epcot afterwards. Worked out great for us. If you're heading to MK after, you're just a short monorail or boat ride away.

I haven't done 'Ohana for breakfast but I do have other late breakfast ADR experience. As others have said we always feel less rushed than an earlier breakfast ADR. At 1900 Park Fare we actually got a lot more time with the characters durring and after the meals.

Also, do you know if that happens to be an AM EMH at MK? If so, try to make it to RD. You can get through a lot, plus pick up a FP or 2 for after breakfast. My girlfriend and I have done this and we have been able to get through most of Fantasyland in less than an hour. It's great to head to Fantasyland after meals because the rides tend to be tame. Maybe have a light snack before heading to RD and then having your breakfast be more of a brunch.

I say go to Magic Kingdom and be there by about 8:45 if it's a 9:00 opening time. Enjoy the opening ceremony & then head for Fantasyland if you have kids with you...between 9:10 and 9:50 you'll be able to walk on Peter Pan, Snow White and Winnie the Pooh. If Dumbo is a must-do, ride Dumbo first, then Peter Pan (two rides most apt to get backed up later in the day.) Then ride Snow White or Pooh, whichever has the shorter line. If you leave Fantasyland at 9:50 and do a quick march to the resort monorail, you should be at the Poly within 20 minutes for checking in ahead of your 10:20 ADR (the monorail comes in on the 2nd floor, same floor as the restaurant...exit monorail, walk into Poly and veer towards your left. 'Ohana is back on the left.) If you don't have little one, after the opening ceremony, veer right at the end of Main Street & go ride Space Mountain a time or two.

The restaurant name is 'Ohana, by the way, and means "family."

We just ate here last week. Our ADR was earlier but the breakfast is the best that we have ever had and we have done Crystal Palace, Chef Mickeys, etc. The character interaction was very good!

I would highly recommend it!

I'm eating ta Ohans for Christmas breakfast at 7:30 am. I got early because I want times in the park before I have to get to the airport by 5pm, at least I will be in Disney for Christmas, couldnt resist my cheap airfare to come home that day
