Ok, here’s the dilemma. My DW and I love Ohana’s and try to eat there every trip. This December, we’ll be going down with her parents and younger sister (age 19) and would love to eat there again. The problem is that her sister is a very picky eater, and we know she would not like anything on the menu. Has anyone ever taken their party to Ohana’s (or a similar type restaurant like Boma’s) and been able to get something from a different menu, such as the Kona Café? And if this can be done, would she be charged the full amount for the Ohana dinner or would she be charged only for what was ordered from the Kona Café menu? I know my father-in-law would not be happy if he had to pay $23.99 for his daughter to eat a burger and fries. :)

Thanks in advance for the help!

Our son has been able to order chicken strips both times we've dined at 'Ohana. The first time we were charged the full children's price for the all you can eat, the second time we were only charged the Kona Cafe price for the child's meal.

I would imagine they would do the same to accomodate a picky adult, but be prepared to pay the full amount. If it ends up being less, consider it a pleasant surprise.

Another option...the two of you could dine alone, the four of you could dine alone...let the 19 year old do some exploring on her own. She would probably welcome the alone time.

After years of trying to work meals around his tastes, we finally started letting our 19-year-old go where he wants. He still eats with us most of the time -- He may not be as picky as the person you're talking about. It is so much better than our worrying about what he will eat, who is going to ask about his getting a kids' meal, etc.

At 19 I would hope the "picky" eater syndrome would be over. Go to Ohana and enjoy your meal. She will either eat, starve, or go elsewhere on her own. Stop catering to her pickyness and you may be surprised what she will eat when hungry.
