I am planning my trip w/the MYW Dining plan and I was wondering about Ohana. I heard a lot of good reviews about it...but I'm not really sure about it. It seems like a whole lot of meat. Do they serve the food all together...or do they serve the veggies and stuff first and then the skewers??? :confused3

We love Ohana's. They do serve the veggies and salad stuff first, then the skewers. It is our favorite meal when we go!

They come out first with the salad, wings, green beans, rice and I know I'm forgetting something. Then they come out with the skewers but they will bring out any of the above all through the meal.

As others have said the food comes in shifts.
As for too much meat, I can honestly say I dont eat much meat off the skewers and yet I leave overly stuffed. ;) . I mostly fill up on bread, salad, rice and wings. By the time the meat comes I only have a couple pieces of the beef and turkey.

We love Ohana's. They start out with cocunut pineapple bread, salad with a honey lime dressing, rice, green beans, honey colinder chicken wings and wontons. They also have 3 dipping sauces: fruit sauce (banana, orange, pineapple and something else), peanut sauce, and I can't remember the last one. Then they bring out steak and turkey on the skewers followed by pork and shrimp. When the meal is over, they bring out fresh pineapple and carmel sauce. They will bring as much as you want of anything. We usually go through at least 2 bowls of wontons, salad and green beans along with all the steak and turkey.

Ohana's is my FAVORITE!!!! I love the wontons and salad! The dressing is so yummy! The bread is so good too! You will love it!

you took the words out of my mouth!! :rotfl2:

Ohana's is THE BEST.

Melissa: if all you wanted to eat was the salad and green beans....you can do so. There is a wide variety of food as has been detailed on the other threads. it's totally up to you how much (if any) you take of any one item.
For example, we ate there twice on our summer trip and one time the steak was a bit tough, so we just asked for more of the other meats and passed up the steak the second time the skewers came through.
My advice if you haven't been there before is to try a little bit of everything, even the sauces. then you can enjoy more of what you like and not take any of what you didn't. It is similar to a buffet in that aspect, you can take what you want. :cool1:

When we did Ohanas we tried an ice cream ball that was rolled in toasted coconut-- I have never in my life tasted anything like that. I even tried many times to recreate this dessert. Does any one know what it was called?
