After all these years of visiting Disney we are finally going to try O'Hana's for breakfast. But I've also read many great reviews on their dinners. I just read the menu on deb's page and would like to ask your opinion. My husband and I are pretty picky when it comes to eating, kind of plain taste. If you are a picky eater and have eaten at O'hana's for dinner, would you recommend it? I noticed they have steak skewers. Any good? Any thoughts and opinions would be appreciated. Thank you!

I am becoming a more adventurous eater but I think you will find plenty to eat at 'Ohana. The dumplings are good but you may not like them. The rice is very mild and mixes well with everything. The salad is good too. Then come the meats. I find the turkey to be somewhat bland even though it is marinated and tasted a bit smoked. The steak is really good!!! The pork ( not a big favorite of mine) is one of the best meats I have tasted. I don;t eat shrimp but Dad says they are really good. You should do fine. Just ask for more steak and none of the other stuff.

Sorry, one more question. Is O'hana's kid friendly or is it more aimed towards adults?

It is kid friendly. I don't have kids but they have some sort of activity every 20-30 minutes. They have done parades with the kids getting small instraments and singing while a CM leads them around the restaurant. They have coconut races where the kids get flimsy brooms and have to sweep coconuts around the restaurant and they get gummy worms at the end. Plus just peeling the shrimp appears to be fun for some kids!!!! ;)

:D We just love that place. We are going back for dinner on Jan 30. I could not visit WDW with out a night out at Ohana's.

The Atmosphere is great. Kids have a ball. Our 3 year old DD loved the coconut races and then they gave them gummie worms for prizes. You have a great view of Cinderella's castle all illuminated and if there are fireworks at MK it is even more of a treat. They dim the lights and pipe the music into the restaurant.

We loved the food. The best of our trip!! They will give you off the skewers only what you want. We loved the steak and the turkey. If you like shrimp??? It is wonderful!! I loved the salads and the pineapple and carmel dipping sauce was delightful!!

Yum!! Wish I was there right now!!!;)

I'm usually fairly picky and O'hana is absolutely my favorite restaurant at Disney! I don't care too much for the appetizers, but the meats are great. The nice part is that you can have as much of the things you like (and as little of those that you don't) until you are about to burst! The skewers just keep coming and coming - we finally just had to say no!

I love O'hana and they have lots of activities geared toward the kids. It's a lot of fun and I love the food :)

Our server at Ohana's last week mentioned that the chicken wings that arrive before the skewers were changed to szechuan flavor, and in his words, a little bit spicier, this past February. To be honest, I could tell no difference from last year's trip.

Thank you everyone for responding. I made PS and now I can't wait to try it!

Hey, Cinmell, this thread made it sound so good I booked Ohana's today, also! We can't wait to try it out!

We love O'hana! On our vacation last summer, we ate ALOT and O'hana was probably our favorite. My DS(8) and DS(9) liked the food so much they are still trying to find a restaurant in town like it and the atmosphere was so cool we had coconut races at my DS's birthday party last weekend! For us...it's an absolute don't miss!!!

PS....you need to be a meat eater and have an appetite when you go.

You've made my mouth water with all these posts! I'm definitely going to book for next trip, our 3yr old son would love it! How far in advnace do you have to book? Travelling in Nov. Do you get better seats if you book early? Do any have a better view of the castle etc than others?

babyjosie98,

Do you know what time is a good time to make a PS to see the fireworks from 'Ohana during January?
Thanks,
Figment

:)figment27,

We also are making a PS for Ohana's in Jan. (Jan 30) and I am not sure what nights they will do Fireworks. We will have to check the park hours for Jan when they come out. Then make your PS for 30 minutes before MK closing. I think you can make a PS for 120 days out,but Since Jan is not at peak season you could probably get a PS after hours for Jan come out.

When you get to the restaurant you can request a seat by the window with a view of the castle.

Check the historic hours for MK in Jan and base your time around that?;)

Good luck!! You will love it!!! I know it will get dark early in Jan? I have never been at that time.
