We have been to Ohana on every trip, and it has been consistently wonderful every time. It's one of our favorites, a must-do, and we've never been disappointed in our meals there.
What I compare it to is the "Polynesian" restaurants that were around New Jersey in the 60s and 70s. These places may have been around elsewhere, but since I have lived in only NJ, I can't say for certain whether they were a regional thing or not.
We used to go to a place called "Chan's Dragon Inn" when I was growing up, and that's where I think of when we go to Ohana. There were other "Dragon Inns" around back in the day, and one place called "Lee's Hawaiian Islander." The atmosphere, drinks and decor were always a hoot at these places. The "Polynesian" food wasn't authentic Hawaiian or Asian, but it was always tasty, same as Ohana.
We like all the items they serve at Ohana--the wings, salad, dumplings and meat, but hands down, the best thing there is the dessert of bread pudding with banana Foster sauce. It's ambrosia--a food for the gods and absolutely delicious. I like it so much, I'd eat there if it were the only thing they served.
