'Ohana

We love Ohana! No, we'd never been there for dinner before the change, but were there as they were transitioning. I was very familiar with the old menu but loved the new one! One poster stated that "they replaced all the side dishes with scalloped potatoes"....this isn't true. The salad is still there and there are also chicken wings, shrimp, wonton "chips", etc. The scalloped potatoes are my favorite(these are the real deal!)...I'd go just for those! I also love the new dessert. As I've said in other posts, I can go to the grocery store and buy a pineapple and a tub of caramel...but that bread pudding with the bananas foster sauce is out of this world...my favorite dessert in all of WDW. I also don't think that you have to be a "new" diner to enjoy Ohana. I've read many reviews by people who have been there before that were very positive. Sometimes I think people get too riled up over silly things. I'm happy just to be in WDW. The food at Ohana is wonderful as is the atmosphere. I can't wait for our next meal there in October!

I came on to ask a question about Ohana and saw this thread, so I'll stick it in here...
Just how loud and boistrous are the "activities"? I'll be traveling with DS4 who enjoys some mild dinner entertainment, but doesn't handle anything on a level with "Whispering" Canyon well. Trying to decide if Ohana is a good idea or if we should just stick with Kona Cafe or room service one night.
Thanks!

It isn't very loud. 'Ohanas is pretty spread out and usually the "entertainment" doesn't last very long. It's a Hawaiian lady (can't remember her name), she sings Hawaiian songs and entertains the kids with coconut races (which actually have always been pretty quiet as I think the kids are concentrating so much on pushing their coconut :) ). We had a table next to the window facing the Poly's marina and we barely heard anything going on.

We actually had a guy instead of a lady singing and doing the activities. It was very nice and not too loud at all
