We are going in June - DH, me, DS(4 and 7). This would be for our dinner on the first night. We want to eat around 5:30 or so, then spend the rest of the evening in MK.
I've enjoyed the food at both O'hana and Whispering Canyon but I would still pick O'hana over WC. It's a little more laid back. I've never eaten at Spoodles so I can't comment on it. If you have an early dinner at O'hana you can hop on the monorail and quickly get to MK (make sure to take a bus from your resort to Poly so you don't have to worry about parking).
I am one of a minority who dislike Ohana, but a four and a seven year old would probably have a great time there, as there are activities tailored to that age group.
Also, since you are going to be at the MK, O'hana is the closest restaurant on your list.
We haven't been to Spoodles (going this fall), but we have been to WCC and Ohanas and we would choose Ohanas all the way! We ate at WCC twice on our last trip and it was fun though it REALLY depends on your server and the food was good but not great.
At Ohanas, the kids had a blast and everyone loved the food!
I"d also vote O'hana. Fun for the kids (they do coconut races, hula hoops, etc). And so close to MK. I have never been to WCC but it is a bit more out of your way (unless you are staying at WL). But you can take a boat right from there to MK. I really like spoodles, I just think it is a bit out of you way if you want to go to MK that night.
Spoodles is, IMO, the best food. But it would be easier to select either of the others if you're spending the evening at MK.
I'd probably go with WC; fun for the kids, plus it's always great to tour the Wilderness Lodge. The theming there is lovely. Then, after dinner, you can take the boat to MK.
They do some kids activities during dinner (never been during lunch so not sure if it is the same). They call all the kids up and let them hula hoop while they play music. They also have the kids push coconuts around the room with a little broom. It is not "non-stop entertainment", but it is definitely fun and kid friendly. JJ
Reasons....
1) great games for the kids - hula hoop, coconut races
2) let the kids get the flavored ice in a bucket - they will have a sovenier bucket and shovel on day one
3) plenty of food - great kids menu
