'Ohana Walk Up Experiences

Hi- I've been trying to get an 'Ohana dinner reservation for our trip in December, but we will only be there 3 nights so it's been hard. I was wondering what experiences people were having as far as joining the walk up list. That is my Plan B as of now, but wanted to know what to expect. Thank you in advance!
(I've already signed up for the dining reservation alerts, so I'm hoping that will work eventually.)

We saw 'Ohana on the walk-up list multiple times on our early October trip. You just need to be fairly close to the restaurant to get on the list. We were staying at VGF and I was able to join.

We were able to walk up about a week and a half ago. We got there at 3:00 when the hostess came over at 3:30 we were family 2 out of 20 in line. We were able to be seated right away. Everything was delicious and fresh.
