Just a quick question-- I am trying to work out which restaurants that DH and I will go to on our upcoming trip. Would like people's opinion between Ohana vs Kona. We can't decide. Thanks!!!!

Tough choice!
Kona was my favorite restaurant for a couple years. Everything there was always perfect and it was a must do. We ate there quite a few times and were never disappointed. The food, service, and atmsphere were always wonderful!
Then on our last trip we went to Ohana. This meal was just as good as the Kona, only a different type...all you can eat, set menu, games for the kids, etc...
I think it depends on what you are looking for, but either way, you cant go wrong. :D

Definitely Kona. In fact, Kona is probably one of the better values for the quality of food on property. My husband and I went to O'Hana last year for the first time and were really disappointed. All of the meats were so dry and tough that it was practically inedible.

Bkft or dinner? For bkft we definitely do Kona as I must have my Tonga Toast, but next time we are definitely doing 'Ohana for dinner. I think the last poster must've hit 'Ohana at a freak moment because nearly all the reports I've read are terrific.

The coffee bar's still there! At least it was in December.

A great place to get a quick to-go cup of great coffee and a pastry...

Go to both! We always hit Kona's and Ohanas on each trip for dinner. They are both completely different in what they offer and both delicious.

I say go with Ohana's - I know I am not in the majority but I didn't really like Kona Cafe - the food was just so/so to me. Now Ohana's I loved! The food was great! The appetisers and the meat selections were outstanding. Desserts were wonderful and the drinks were fabulous. It was the only resturant my DH said we had to do again.

Do they also have this restaurant at Disneyland California? If so what is it called, and what sort of menu items and prices do they have?

I've not been to either - but in reading posts I have made my choice: O'Hanas!! Kona sounds good for lunch but it seems (acc'd to board members, here) that for a wonderful dinner - O'Hanas rules....If you are like me, you'll want to schedule it so that once dinner is over, you can walk out to the Poly beach to watch Wishes! :hyper:

Thanks to everyone on their input. I think we decided to go to Ohana's but what time should we make PS so that we can view wishes. Doesn't matter if we eat before or after the show, but DH wants to eat no earlier than 7 pm. We are going in May does anyone know what time wishes would normally be at this time of year?

Thanks again!!!

I'd love to make PS for Ohanas on May 8 and I'd love to know the time for wishes as well!!!! :bounce:

The only restaurants that they have at both the Disneyland Resort and the WDW resorts are The Rainforest Cafe, The House of Blues and Pinnochio's Village Haus. Both Disneyland and Th MK Have Plaza restaurants though they are completly different from each other.
I love 'Ohana and it is probably my favorite restaurant at WDW. I thought the Kona Cafe was nice. The food was fine and the ambiance was nice enough without being fancy. They really are different kinds of restaurants. The good think about Kona Cafe is if you have somewhat picky people they can choose what they want off of the menu though it didn't quite have a huge variety.

I liked both 'Ohana and Kona ... if you're going to 'Ohana make sure you go with an empty stomach because everything is sooo tasty and they just keep the food coming!

I love the desserts and coffee at Kona :) Especially Koko Puffs! Yum :p The food we had for dinner was pretty good too but I'm just such a desserts person.
