Ohana twice in one day... crazy?

Would you do it?
Ohana for breakfast, and then early Ohana dinner (3:45) before MVMCP. Staying at the Poly, plan to do both of these meals regardless of scheduling but will it take something away to do them both in one day?

not doing one or the other is not an option so if you are an Ohana hater, that's not what I'm asking!

This next trip, we're doing dinner followed by breakfast the next day, but not the same day. I think if you're skipping lunch, totally doable.

If not doing one or the other is not an option, that means you are doing both regardless of what you read here, right? What are you asking then?

Yes, skipping lunch. We are doing TS breakfast/TS dinner daily (except for a couple of days where we will have a very early lunch and later dinner).

As long as you don't have FP's scheduled within a couple of hours of your ADR's, it's fine. I love the food at O'hana, but they're NEVER on time. We had a 7:50am reservation there last time we were at DW, and we still didn't get seated until about 8:20. Craziest thing I've ever seen.

We're doing them both at some point in our trip . But has anyone done them both on the same day of the trip and regretted it and why? or will it be stupid and weird to do them both on the same day. Obviously the experiences are different - one is a character meal breakfast and one is dinner with no characters. Just trying to decide if it is more important to spread my (many) character meals out so that I only have one per day or spread my restaurants out so I don't go to the same one twice in one day.

Sounds great to me. Don't see a problem.

That is a very good point (and why I was asking partially!)

My two choices right now are Ohana breakfast on a Disney springs/break day when we are planning to take the day mostly off but go to HS in the evening for an earlyish (4:30 or so) dinner at Hollywood & vine with F! package. Not staying at Poly for that part of the trip but will be out and about with the car to go to DS anyway so can drive there. Two character meals on one day, but only Mickey overlap. The alternative would be Boma for breakfast that morning before going to Disney Springs.

Then the other day is when we are staying at the poly and planning to go to AK in the morning before returning to the resort early afternoon for an early 3:45 right when they open dinner at Ohana before going to MVMCP. So I thought it might just be easier to go to Ohana for breakfast rather than making a stop at AKL on the way to AK. But the original plan was to go to Boma for breakfast that day.

For whatever it is worth we have two half planned at AK - the first is probably more than a half day, it is our arrival day and we are supposed to land at 9:30 so it is mostly a full day and we are planning to stay there into the evening. The second day is just to re-hit some of my son's favorites that he will want to do twice and maybe catch the nemo show if we can't catch it first time around. So getting there at rope drop is not a priority for me either way. However since I am also not planning to get up right at the crack of dawn to get to ohana breakfast one way or the other it might be better on a day when there is nothing much planned until much later in the day.

Sure, why not! Though you are in the same room, the food and atmosphere are very different between breakfast and dinner. You are staying at Poly, which makes it convenient and you have a big, late night event ahead of you. I don't know what you have planned for the day, but hanging out at Poly all day, then going to the party sounds great to me! We were just at a resort in Costa Rica where we would eat breakfast and dinner in the same restaurant on some days with beach time in between. It didn't feel weird. It was just a relaxing way to enjoy the resort.

yeah that happens all the time at cruises and all inclusive places. That's true. I just never would aim for that at disney but might be just fine.

Also now wondering if maybe we should make it a down day at the resort as you suggest. last year we did half a day at AK before MNSSHP and it was fine but my kiddo was done after the fireworks (but this was completely expected, he was 6 with a normal bedtime of 8:30 so 10:30 was amazing). He can stay up til midnight now so wanting to get the most out of the party. He was NOT into taking breaks AT ALL but if the weather is nice enough in december might be a good pool day.

Just read your last post, OP. Yes, do it on your AK day. Breakfast at O'hana, AK, dinner O'Hana, MVMCP. AKL, AK, Poly, MK is a lot of running around IMHO.

I've never done O'hana.

But we did do Crystal Palace twice in one day. It was wonderful.

I don't think it is crazy at all.

that is sort of my gut but i am going back and forth. also my gut is to spread out the character meals and not do two character meals in one day.

Not an Ohana fan (but use to be years ago)
Anyway please be aware the bus's at the POLY are bad and slow....most of the time
I would try to plan to eat at the resort on days when you will use the monorail... also fairly easy to leave MK eat and go back...
I would also not eat twice at buffet --all you care to eat place-- in one day but that is just me.... a cruise is different as you sit or walk on an island with no missions like Disney. Itr is just way to easy to overeat or just plain eat the food that tastes good but will sit in your stomach for the entire day.

thanks, I will have a car and I don't do buses :)

We are having breakfast daily and there are several days where there is also an AYCTE place for dinner. I actually feel less obligation to "clean my plate" there than at TS restaurants where I've just paid a set price for this set meal. Weird of me I guess :) It is also much easier to get the kiddo filled up and satisfied at those places where he can have as much as he wants of what he likes.

Personally I would not do them both in the same day. I would prefer to spread them out - although we don't ever duplicate restaurants on the same trip anyways but I for sure would at least want a day between them if we did.

I would do both on the same day if that fits into your plans better than any other days. Yes, it's the same restaurant but the experience is completely different. I love both breakfast and dinner at Ohana!
