We ate at O'Hana tonight and it was our last visit. The chicken is still on the menu and was probably our favorite item. The service was bad and some of the changes to our favorites don't make it worth it anymore. The noodles were my favorite, but they've changed. The flavoring is lighter making them not as enjoyable. The shrimp tonight was burnt. I mean black. I asked for more and was served moe black shrimp. My daughter has to go to the restroom during our meal and I took her. When we came back the steak and shrimp had been served. Mine was cold. The server wanted to start dessert at that point, but I asked for more steak and shrimp. Then the black shrimp came.. When it came time to serve dessert our server poured the banana sauce over the pudding. I realize this sounds silly, but in all our visits I don't remember a server ever doing that. Maybe they do and it was just the way she did it. I felt very rushed, like she wanted to turn the table soon. We were probably there 1hr 10 minutes at this point. I guess it's lost its luster for us finally. Last year I said we were never going back, this time I mean it. I did speak to the manager before we left to let him know.

Sorry to hear that, this is our FAVORITE place to eat..but we did have a bad experience a few years ago with service and also felt rushed....but this is a must we do and pay OOP because we dont get the meal plan..We went in Dec and the food was awesome and service was great..

We were there tonight and the noodles were definitely different. They used to be my favorite part of the meal but tonight I only ate a few bites of them! We did enjoy the rest of it and our service was great, but the noodles make me sad! We just went in February and they were good, so it seems something has changed between then and now.

We've had 2 bad experiences there as well, and the last time we went DH said "Never again!" Our experience is much like you state, rushed meal, food was awful (steak that was almost raw), burnt sausages, and burnt checken wings. We were thinking about it again, but I just don't think so, someone else can have that ADR, we just would rather go someplace else.

We have been twice and sauce was poured over the dessert both times. That's how it's supposed to be served, though I'm sure if you don't like the sauce they would have happily brought you another serving sans sauce. :confused3

Sorry you didn't enjoy your meal, but maybe the ressies will be easier on those that do like it. It's one of our favorite meals and we have never been disappointed. (have not been there to taste the 'new' noodles yet).

Our server always pours the sauce over the bread pudding/ice cream - think that's the way they intend to serve it.

Guess there really isn't that many people that don't like 'Ohana as the restaurant is always full and ressies are very hard to get. Maybe it's just those that post on the Dis. :confused3

My family LOVEs O'hana so we made an effort to go during our last trip (the day after DH proposed). Our waitress was absolutely horrible. We were one of maybe 5 tables, and definitely her only one, but she returned only a few times - basically to rush us out. She asked my now husband if he wanted shrimp, he said no, and she just dumped the whole skewer on his plate - I guess so we'd have something??? The beef was very dry and overcooked (I almost wish it was raw!!), and the only thing we liked were the appetizers. We did not leave satisfied and felt it wasn't worth the money at all. We definitely will not be returning and it was a very sad way to celebrate our engagement. Sounds like this isn't exactly an uncommon experience....

Was just there on 4/18 with a party of 8. Service was slow, but we didn't really care because everything was delicious! We have been numerous times and always leave with full bellies and smiles on our faces. I will note that our sever did ask about pouring the sauce over the dessert. I too would be upset if they did do it without asking. So sorry about the bad experiences some of you posters have had:(. My family will continue to go back every trip:)

Just ate at Ohana last weekend and the chicken was there. It was very dry each time I had a piece and some of the steak was very chewy overall though it was very good! Love the dumplings

Agree with OP. Last time for Ohana. We traveled during Easter break. My ADR was fairly easy to get for 5pm less than 60 days out.
We were not on DDP rather OOP this time. We were seated and waiting a long time for any service. No bar/drink menu offered, just soda, tea and water. I was looking forward to ordering my fru fru drink.:confused3 I saw other tables with nice cocktails but not us. Our waiter chucked salad on our table and left.... the table had not been set prior so again it was felt rushed even as they placed our plates etc...I have teenage boys. That should tell you that we chose ohana not only for the previous ambiance but for the boys ability to have more helpings if they desired. The welcome bread butter was not served until we were almost finished. I asked for more bread and potstickers. Good Grief, my family will tell you I NEVER ask for more but alas I did and the server seemed annoyed. NO coffee was offered at the end. I ASKED. At this point, I know I am paying almost 200$ for a meal. I would like coffee.
I was simply not happy with the service at all. I should have complained or at least displayed my feeling in my tip. But I did not. Tipped 18%. They choices have changed. The service was awful. I will not return.

Can we be honest? The quality of Ohana has definitely gone down over the last 8-10 years, sadly. Is it the worst food ever? No, surely not. But there is definitely a pressure to get tables in and out and the wait staff is no longer that friendly as they are running from table to table. Perhaps this restaurant has gained more popularity over the years and they have no choice but to adjust and get as many people in as they can. Don't know! All in all, you are paying for the atmosphere (which is awesome), and if you can time it right for Wishes, you can get a great view. We will probably be back because we enjoy the restuarant as a whole, but definitely not because the food is great. Oh, and the Lapu Lapus ofcourse :)

agreed. We went last year and the food is definitely different than 6-7 years ago. But like you said the atmosphere is still awesome!!

We went there once, wasnt impressed. AT ALL. Food was mediocre at best. Sorry but for that hefty price tag i expect more than mediocre food. We wont bother to go back. There are far better places to eat in the world than at Ohana. Thats just my opinion.

Totally overated restaurant. We went there once for dinner and the food they served were very salty and dry. Plus the service was below average

We were there last night and had great servers and loved our meal.we were a group of six, and all loved the pot stickers, the wings, and the shrimp was my favorite. Sorry you had a bad time

I'm really sad to hear the poor reviews about the noodles. We were just ther in December and thought they were great. I really hope they haven't changed that much, we were looking forward to going back. :confused3

Is Ohana different than the outside luau? I've heard the luau is a must but it seems different and I'm booking ADRs Monday

I was there on 4/27. I was so disappointed in the noodles. I could never really put my finger on what was different, but when we were there last year I could not get enough of them. This trip, I only had a few bites. They just didn't do anything for me at all. I thought maybe my taste buds had changed or something. The potstickers were good though

Dissapointed to hear the reviews!:(

Will "watch" the reviews for the future...

Such a great setting though!
