Hey folks. Thanks to your valuable insight, we figured out that a table at Ohana on New Year's Eve would be a dandy way to watch the Wishes fireworks. 7:50 p.m. ressie, Wishes at 8:30. With that in mind, a few queries:

1) Do all the tables in Ohana have sight-lines to the fireworks?

2) If no is the answer to question 1, is there a mad rush to the windows to watch the show when it starts?

and 3) Can you request specific tables as part of your ADR/PS? And if so, any recommendations?

Thanks to all of you for your help!

No, all the tables do not have sight lines for the fireworks. We got to see them when we were there last week. There were a few people who moved towards the window but mostly a mom with a small kid but that was about it.

Another thing to consider is that I've read that 'Ohana tends to run behind for their seating. They were around a half and hour behind when we went so we weren't seated for a half hour to 45 minutes after our ressie time. We had a 6:40 ADR and got to see Wishes that started at 9. A 7:50 ressie may cut it close to seeing wishes if they are behind.

As for requesting a table, I have no clue!

Personally, I always recommend watching holiday fireworks from the beach, not the restaurant - the view is much better down there.

Also, if you're really set on watching from 'Ohana, I'd make the PS for about 7:30 at the latest, and get there at least an hour to an hour and a half early - you're going to be in competition with a LOT of other people wanting to do the same thing.

No, all of the tables don't have a direct view of the fireworks. And no, I wouldn't say there's a mad rush, but we've been angry when people push in right next to our seats, in our "personal space," to get to the window.

Requesting a window seat is something that's done when you check in at the hostess stand, and not when you make the reservation. And I guess you could request a certain table, but you're more in luck if you just ask for a window seat.

Can you also hear the music from the beach? Thanks!

Yep, you just have to scout out beforehand to make sure you're next to a speaker. This is easy, since they play regular music from them and they're along the sidewalks.

We watched the new HalloWishes last Sunday from the beach, right next to a speaker.

I would also recommend making your ressie earlier than 7:50 p.m. and also getting there early. I would try for a 6:45 p.m. ADR, allowing for a 15 minute wait and then you would have fireworks with your dessert. People at their window tables at 7:50 p.m. are likely to linger over dessert so they can watch Wishes, so it might be very hard for you to get a good view at that time. That's the advice my DU TA gave me last year. Then get there early, and tell the hostess that you want a window seat and would be willing to wait for it.

Your other option is to watch the fireworks from the beach and then have dinner afterward, or have dinner a bit earlier and then go down to the beach.

The view from the restaurant really isn't that good - if you want to see the fireworks, I'd eat early or late and watch from the beach. We weren't seated where we could view the fireworks and instead had to bend over while standing to see them since there is a step down in the restaurant. My back couldn't do that for 14 minutes! So most people in our section ignored the fireworks and kept on eating and talking like nothing was going on.

If you want to score a window seat, make an early ADR (1-1.5 hours prior to fireworks) and get there early. Request at the hostess stand (dining reservations have nothing to do with special requests for seating) a window seat to view fireworks and be prepared to wait =)

Sorry, a little OT:
are there a lot of window seats in general that have a view of Cinderellas castle?
We have a 10:30 am ADR and are really hoping to be able to look at the castle while we eat.

Any info. would be greatly appreciated since I have never been to this restaurant.
Thank you
