'Ohana - Dinner
We had a party of four this evening, and we only had to wait a couple of minutes for our table. We were shown to our table near the window on the far end of the restaurant. It was a big round table, which made it nice for sharing.
First, we received the fried wontons served with peanut sauce, chimichurri sauce and harissa, and the mixed greens with a honey-lime dressing. The salad dressing was SO yummy, and I think everyone liked the peanut dressing the best.
We then got the spicy-sweet and sour shrimp and the honey-coriander chicken wings. Both were good. The wings were nice and meaty, but I found the sauce a little bland. But, I like my wings spicy hot!
The shrimp was popular at the table, but I always prefer my shrimp with cocktail sauce.
We were then served the Maui Scalloped Potatoes and the Stir-fried Vegetables, followed closely by the Mesquite Grilled Turkey and the Hawaiian Pork-sausage with pineapple terriyaki glaze. The vegetables weren't anything special, but the potatoes certainly were! I could have had an entire meal of just the salad and potatoes and been very happy!
We then got the Marinated Sirloin Steak and Asian Barbecue Pork Loin. My favourite meat was the pork sausage, it had a great flavour! The steak was my second favourite, then the turkey (which was SO moist and tender), and then the pork. I found the pork didn't have too much flavour on its own.
There was SO much food, I couldn't believe how much we were served, and there was a lot left over. Oops.
Then, we got the bread pudding a la mode with Bananas Foster Sauce. I don't usually like bread pudding because it's always so soggy, but this was DELICIOUS! It was SO good that I wished I had room for more!
I would recommend this restaurant to someone who loves their meat. I really enjoyed the salad, potatoes and bread pudding, but until you can order a la carte, I'm not sure it's worth the price for me. I do enjoy my meat, but not THAT much of it.
Our service was great, and the games and songs for the kids were fun. This is definitely not a quiet restaurant, but is very fun for families.
