OK, I never really officially posted an Ohana review but I had been there 31 times all together.

I loved it, it was one of the best restaurants at WDW and one of the best for the price as it's a great price compared to much of the other Disney restaurants.

My retraction is for whatever praise and suggestions I've given about Ohana in the past.

I will never be going back again.

Three things I have found to be some of the best were the fried wontons, potatoes au gratin and bread pudding.

None of these things are currently on the menu anymore.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????

Why fix something that doesn't need to be fixed?

I simply do not understand all the changes. There have been to many!

New chef perhaps?

Whatever the case, Ohana has lost my interest completely.

I have always been a hater on the people who seem to get offended at the dumbest things and have to protest everything but in this case, I feel like I should write Disney a letter...

... like they'd care anyway.

I hear you and am sorry that one of the restaurants you continually frequented has fallen on your disapproval by eliminating some of the choices that brought you back each visit.

I have seen a lot of changes in dining over the years and recently posted about some at Teppan Edo.....Disney thinks we do not notice when they eliminate, we notice and eventually if they continue to drop items with no substitutions they will start losing customers...

Why don't you try it anyways? Many people protested when they added potatoes to the menu, but then everyone learned to really love them. I'm sure that'll be the case with these noodles. I say just give it a chance.

But I'm sorry also, it must suck to have one of your favorite restaurants pull your favorite dishes off the menu.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one noticing substantial changes over the past few years!

Thanks.

Well part of the issue with this is that the noodles have red peppers and pineapple in it which I cannot stand the taste of either :sad1:

I was ok until I heard about the noodles but after I was done with it. The only thing left that drew me specifically there is the mixed greens in that delicious vinagrette. Unfortunately, with so many other restaurants to go to on WDW property it'll take a lot for me to return there :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

I'm totally with ya on this one. It's not that they're replacing it with an equally yummy dish (IMHO) but I simply do not like peanuts.

So, let's see.

Welcome Bread - I hate coconut.

Salad - Yummy :lovestruc

Pork Dumplings in Sweet n Sour Sauce - I'd be willing to give these a try.

Honey-coriander chicken wings - These were okay, I didn't eat too many of them. They were too rich.

Some weird peanut pasta pineapple thing - No thanks.

The meats are fantastic, and now they're doing away with the bread pudding? So, I already hate a good portion of the meal. What gives? :headache: :confused3

I agree also. We were going in May and because of the changes I am changing our ressie. The potatoes were our favorite and just thinking about the noodles makes me cringe.:crazy2:

We are thinking of making a reservation there and I curious as to what is replacing the bread pudding and friend wontons? Also, what exactly are the noodles?

I was on allears and saw that the latest menu update was 2/08 and they still had the old food listed. Where is there an updated menu for 'Ohana?

The noodle dish is a type of lo mein noodle with pineapple and peppers and I heard it has peanuts too.

When did you eat there? I was there in January and the only change was the Fried Wontons were gone(Which I used to love). But if they have taken away the potatos and the Bread Pudding as well, then I may reconsider my May reservation.:confused3 Thanks for your info on this.

Sean

I haven't read anywhere that they are taking away the bread pudding. Are you sure.

Well, okay, I get that you're not happy with the new menu. But why are you retracting all the good things you've said about it? They changed their menu (as most restaurants do) and you haven't even tried it yet but you're still all up in knots? The past experiences you had were still good, a different menu doesn't change that. :confused3

baby piglet, I would say that a new menu that eliminates all the things you love about a place does change things.

I wish I knew for sure about the bread pudding, we made Ohana's our first TS meal for our upcoming trip and now I am wondering if it will be worth it. Going to have to follow this one closely!

Yes I understand, but it doesn't change your past experiences.

I don't get what the big deal is. :confused3

I loved the potatoes at Ohana, but I am always open to trying new things, and I think the noodles go better with the Polynesian theme anyway. I never really got why the potatoes were "Polynesian," but they were yummy, so I never really thought about it.

I hadn't heard the bread pudding had changed, what did they replace it with?

Of course when the potatoes and bread pudding were new on the menu, (two and a half years ago,) there was a huge uproar then. Now the menu has changed again, and everyone's upset again, even without trying it first. I don't get it.

I think the problem is that not everyone likes peanuts in their food. Maybe it just sounds too exotic, I dunno. I think a good majority of people like potatoes in one way or another.

I would like to see pictures of the new items if anyone has any. :goodvibes

Yeah, and I don't like mushrooms in my food. :confused3 Every restaurant simply cannot cater to everyone's food dislikes and likes.

And a good majority of people like pasta in one way or another.
