We are going to WDW feb 6-13 and haven't been able to score an 'ohana ressie for the trip aside from the late 9:30 pm which doesn't work with a 2 yr old. is it worth trying a walk in, getting there right when they open? or pointless waste of time? We went this year and the kids loved it, dh and I enjoyed it, it was probably our favorite restaurant after Boma. What's the best strategy?

If you go the walk-in route you should be prepared for the possibility of a long wait or being turned down altogether. If your kids love it that much, you may need to consider how much it might disappoint them to go there and then not be able to get into the restaurant.

You could get lucky and get in with a short wait.

To the OP: I deleted the last post because it is the policy of this board that posters may not use it to ask that someone else give you a reservation.

Check the February cancellation thread, if you see someone cancelling 'Ohana at a time you would like, you can try to coordinate with them via PM to find out the time they will cancel, or just go online at the Disney site or call Disney and try to snag it.

I would recommend checking online multiple times a day to see if something opens up. It's a credit card guarantee restaurant so people will cancel if their plans change.

I would try walking up only as a last resort. When we were there in October there were 2 lines at the podium at opening - one for people with reservations and one for walk ups. The line for walk ups started forming before opening, but it looked like they were accepting walk ups, although I don't know how long the wait was.
