It is not like traditional bread pudding - I don't really like it either. But, the "bread" pudding at Ohana is out of this world. My mother even looked it up on line when we returned last year and prepared it for our family at Christmas. Here's the link to the recipe:
I am not a bread pudding fan........AT ALL. I am not a banana flavor fan........AT ALL.
But let me tell you, O'hana's bread pudding served with icecream is SINFULLY DELICIOUS and MOUTHWATERINGLY MAGNIFICENT! (Okay, silly descriptions, but you get the idea.)
You all really should try it. If you don't like it, then just eat the icecream. But at least try one little bite of it first. Don't cross it off before giving it a shot......it's that good.
There is so much food at OHana's you probably wont have room for dessert! If you really need a sweet treat at the end of a meal, you can get ice cream.
Dont write it off for dinner because of the pudding.
It is very subdued. You can't really even taste the bananas because the rest of the included yummy ingredients overpowers them.
(I have to say that I like actual bananas as long as they're not very ripe. I even like them a little green. But I hate banana "flavoring"......like banana "flavored" candy or popsicles or whatever, YUCK. The bread pudding and sauce doesn't have any banana "flavoring" in it. It's so Mmmmmmmmmm Mmmmmmmmmmm GOOD!)
