Ohana or Via Napoli?

I know everybody on the Boards loves Ohana, but we didn't really like it. Everything that came out was overcooked and way too much wasted food on everybody's table. We loved Via. Can't wait to go back in August.

I know I am in the minority here, but just my opinion, not a big fan of O'hanas.:rolleyes1 Love Via Napoli, for salad and their pizza!

I'm not all that fond of Via Napoli myself, but love O'Hana. It is a must do on every trip.

Thank you for your opinions! I should probably add in a little more information.

We are from CT and are definitely pizza snobs. :snooty: We are 20 min from the world famous Wooster street in New Haven and regularly have great pizza.

Our other ADRs include:

Mickey's BYBBQ
Chef Mickey's (D)
Crystal Palace (B)
50's Prime Time (D)

We liked both, DH LOVED 'Ohana, I really really liked Via Napoli. The pizza was super delish and it was our meal "out" when the kids were at the kids club. If you want to stroll Epcot after your meal then pick Via Napoli, but if you want to kick back and watch fireworks from Poly Beach afterwards, pick 'Ohana. Sorry...can't really choose!!:)

We prefer oranges. :goodvibes

We would pick Via Napoli over 'Ohana practically every time.

Not really a fan of the "entertainment" at 'Ohana and we've always found the food to be a bit dry and just generally underwhelming. Of course it is all you can eat so that does somewhat compensate for the price you pay there. Kind of depends on how much you value quantity and quality.

At Via Napoli, don't think this is just a pizza place. They have lots of good choices on their menu so branch out and try something other than pizza (which is very good anyway). We love the arancini appetizer.

You may want to read the dining reviews here when trying to decide. :disrocks:

Those are two of my favourite restaurants.

What I love about Via Napoli is that they try and make their pizza as authentic as possible. From bringing in Flour from the Naples region to matching they PH levels in the water to Naples.

We have never had a problem at Ohanas. Not a big fan of the "entertainment" - the lady singing. But the food has always been yummy and you will leave stuffed.

My vote for OHANA'S....Now on the other side of the piazza ..is Tutto Italia... Now That would be a real toss up...If you'd ask me....

Wow, that's a tough choice. The food and the experiences are so different.

'Ohana is all-you-can-eat, salad, veg, potstickers & wings (yum), chicken, steak, shrimp, and dessert, with a Hawaiian entertainer who gets the kids doing the limbo, shaking maracas and doing a conga line around the restaurant.

Via Napoli is Italian with family-style tables located in the middle of the restaurant. Smaller tables are around the perimeter. Calamari appetizer delicious, pizzas are large for 'individual', thin crust and scrumptious. The menu may be a bit limited, but then again most of us are there for the pizza. We pick up a canoli-to-go just outside, rather than have dessert at the table.

We enjoy each ... on this last trip, we did Via Napoli. On the next one, it'll be neither. On the one after that, likely 'Ohana.

Another vote for Via Napoli. We liked 'Ohana the first time we ate there, didn't love it, but liked it. We ate there again last year and we were all underwhelmed.

Last year we rated Via Napoli as a very, very close second favorite meal of the trip (first was Cape May). We all tried a different pizza, and really enjoyed all of the kinds we tried. We really liked the desserts we had, too. It is on our "for sure" list for this year and we are even considering going twice so that we can go once for pizza and once for "regular" Italian food. :rotfl:

O'Hana used to be our favorite Disney restaurant. We NEVER missed an opportunity to go there, and on one trip even went there twice. :-) That said, on our last trip, it somehow just wasn't that wonderful. The food was greasier than usual, the "ice cream" on top of the bread pudding was some kind of whipped fluff that was just gross - not real ice cream at all, and we all belched up the food all night afterwards.

Via Napoli on the other hand was wonderful. The pizza was not the best I had ever had in my life (we have good pizza here in Chicago and I have eaten real pizza in Italy as well) but it was definitely very, very good. What wowwed us was the dessert. We had zeppole and DH and I cannot stop thinking/dreaming of them. We are going back just for those if nothing else. They also serve REAL coffee at Via Napoli (LaVazza brand). No Nescrappe. :-) Real coffee and zeppole = HEAVEN.

But we would definitely eat dinner here again. I might try something other than the pizza, just for fun, but would eat the pizza again too.

I guess if you've never been to O'Hana, it's definitely an experience. But the food is better at Via Napoli.

We love Via Napoli, but always end up there for lunch rather than dinner. Come to think of it...when we have lunch there, we are usually too full to have dinner later! Love the calamari and arancini appetizers and the pizza is divine. Have also tried several pasta dishes that were delicious. And the desserts are really amazing too, especially the zeppole! I cannot dine here without having all 3 courses. I also must admit that I am always charmed by the Italian waiters :)

We have dined at 'Ohana twice, the first time being awful. Bad rushed service. All our appetizers and sides were on the table at once before we even got drinks...then we couldn't get anyone to bring us meat, and when they did, it was all overcooked and very dry. We had free dining last year, so we decided to give it another try. Let our server know we didn't want to be rushed and she obliged. We really enjoyed the sides, salad and appetizers (and the bread pudding for dessert.) But once again...dry, tasteless, practically burnt meats. I just can't see spending that much for a meal where the main course is practically inedible. Now if you're a fan of extremely well done grilled meats, you might really enjoy it here. If they offered a meat free price, we would probably go back. But I'm not willing to give it another try. Is it just a fluke that the meat was that bad both times we visited? :confused3

As much as I like VN, I would go to Ohana in a heartbeat if it was my choice.

Via Napoli without at doubt. I just didn't get how Ohana's was a big deal. Food is nothing to write home about - just totally underwhelmed. We loved Via Napoli - the atmosphere and food is wonderful.

Now thats's funny...NesCrappe....LoL I never had the Zeppoles, but Now after that description I will be heading over for some coffee and Zeppoles, after a nice meal at Tutto's..LoL. or maybe a second day eating there...Not sure, but thnx for the info
