Ohana or Storybook Dining?

On the last night of the trip we’ll have been in the Magic Kingdom (leaving early because it’s a party night). We’re staying at the Polynesian so I thought about dinner at Ohana. We’ve been there before and weren’t in love with the food but liked the atmosphere. We could do dinner there and then enjoy the hotel pool. Or we could leave from the magic kingdom and do Storybook Dining at the Wilderness Lodge, which we’ve never done before. My kids will be just shy of three and seven. Neither are interested in Snow White, but I could play the movie more often before our trip to possibly change that. What would you choose? Is there anywhere else I should consider? I’m worried Spirit of Aloha will be too long to hold their attention.

If you were considering Spirit of Aloha, I would consider Hoop Dee Doo Review instead. It's more fun than Spirit, IMHO, plus you can take the kids to the stables to see the horses and your three year old could do a pony ride, if interested. There is also a playground there. Personally, if your kids aren't into Snow White, I wouldn't spend the money on Storybook Dining. Another restaurant to consider - Whispering Canyon at WL - good food, fun atmosphere and less expensive than Storybook. If you would rather have a more relaxing evening at your resort, I would stick with O'hana or even just do Kona.

My 5 year olds LOVED Storybook dining. That said, they had become moderately obsessed with the dwarfs following a viewing of Snow White, so that played a big part. The character interaction there was spot-on and that's the only place you can consistently meet Dopey, Grumpy and The Queen during a non-party time.

If Snow White isn't their thing, what about Cinderella? 1900 Park Fare has Cindy with her stepmother and sisters at dinner. The stepsisters were one of our favorite in-park meets and people say they're great at the meal, too.

We have Hoop Dee Doo earlier in our trip. I’m glad to hear you recommended it! We have the dining plan on this trip so cost isn’t as much of an issue as credits.

We went there last time and we loved it! I’ve thought about making it a repeat.

I would say between the two, given the ages Storybook Dining would be better, but both are good.

You can’t swim at the Poly unless you are staying at the Poly. That might figure into your decision.
