Made ADR for Luau for our visit in June. Since it will take up 2 table services on the dining plan, I was told that Ohana is a great alternative and my 9 year old DD might like it more. Has anyone done both? I booked CHef MIckey with the saved table service. Have free dining plan and am already spending extra on splurging for a savanah club at AKL and booked the sunrise safari.

I would definitely do Ohana and Chef Mickeys over the luau. We went to the luau for my birthday last year and it was just okay. The show was cute but the food is much better at Ohana. They also have a singer that entertains the children with a parade and limbo. My children are 8 and 9 and they loved it. They were kind of bored at the luau. I do not think that it was worth two credits. We have Ohana and Chef Mickeys booked for our June trip. We usually eat at both restaurants each trip.

Thanks for the reply! When I was told the price of ChefMickey's, I started to rethink things. I did use 2 table services for Jiko. I hope it's worth it. What other things are must dos for your 8 and 9 year old? Are their any quick service that they really liked?

The other advantage of 'Ohana is not having to worry about it being cancelled because of weather.

I asked my 9 year old daughter and she said that she likes two quick service restaurants at the Magic Kingdom. Cosmic Rays because it has a topping bar for their sandwiches. It has every type of topping you can think of. Sonny Eclipse plays while you eat. He is an animatronic lounge alien who sings and plays the keyboard. It is really cheesy but they like it. She also mentioned Pinocchio Village Haus at MK. It is just a regular quick service restaurant but a few seats have a window view into IASW. It's just the loading area but they like sitting in that area.

If you go to Downtown Disney, both of my children said that Goofy's Candy Company is a must do. You can create your own sweet treat. You choose an apple, pretzel, marshmallow, or rice crispy treat and chocolate to dip it in and toppings for it. They love doing this and it counts as a snack credit.

Also, did you get a free dining pin code? I am hoping to get one for our trip. I hope that this helps.:)

Hi Liz & Griff,s mom! Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I did get a free dining code. Must arrive by June 30. Much earlier than I'd like to take my summer vacation, but the pin made me consider it. Haven't been to WDW in 5 years.
