Which restaurant should we go to? We originally were planning to go to the Spirit of Aloha. Then I started to read all these horrible reviews, so now we are thinking of changing. Which is better...Ohana or Kona. They both sound good. We are a family with 3 kids DS13, DS7 and DD5. I appreciate any information. Oh and by the way it would be on the night of our 15th wedding anniversary. :goodvibes

I'll vote for O'hana only because of the atmosphere there. It is great for families. Both have really good food.

Although OHana has some fun there, we didn't care for the food. It was OK. I probably wouldn't eat there again unless someone else paid for it. I'd eat there for Breakfast, but not dinner. And we like practically everything. My DDs(4 and 12) both LOVE Kona and they say it's their favorite even over the character meals. (Food wise)

Kona has better food but not much in atmosphere, 'Ohana is more fun for kids.

Kona is good food but nothing special in terms of atmosphere.

'Ohana is SO Disney that it's just a blast. We like the food, too, but I think for a special dinner and a family event, 'Ohana is much more appropriate.

If you are a picky eater go with Kona. I love Kona, but am only a fan of Ohana. I do like it, but it is not my favorite... I would only do Ohana for the atmosphere and all the stuff that goes on during dinner, not for the food (the wantons with the peanut butter was great, though! If they still have it. I am a picky eater). Kona had very good food, nice decor, but like others have said no atmosphere like Ohana

Kona is just your basic restaurant with steak, fish, and chicken. It's nice for sure, but nothing extraordinary.
Ohana was unique in that they continually served you food. Bread.. salad.. appetizers.. meat.. veggies.. dessert! It was slow and relaxed and the workers really make it a lot of fun. There was singing and dancing and games.

Thanks for all your input. It's great to hear all your opinions.:)

We have had dinner at both and enjoyed Ohana (new menu) so much more then Kona except for one thing, we like the Kona wings better than the Ohana wings.

I would have to vote for Kona :thumbsup2. The food is awesome (prime rib and filet are out of this world:goodvibes).

We absolutely loved Kona last trip! We went to O'Hana three years ago and were very disappointed, so much so that I don't know if we will go back. We talked about trying it again this year because so many people seem to like it, but there were too many other places we really wanted to try so we can't fit it in. Our server was awful so that didn't help our experience either.

Dinner depends on your family's tastes. But . . . Kona wins for desserts - they are awesome!

Thank you all for your input! I decided to go to Kona. We booked for dinner. I actually asked first about Ohana, but the earliest dinner was at 9:30. That's a little too late for me. So Kona was it. My DS13 was happy. He really rather go to Kona than Ohana--- he really love quality food! Thanks again :thumbsup2
