O'Hana or Kona??

If you have an idea of when you will have dinner I would make an ADR! It is always best to be safe! I never try and walk up to restaurants at WDW... I want to know I have a table!

I am having the same dilemma! I already have a ressie for my mom and I our first night there, at O'Hana, but I am considering changing to Kona. We are staying at the Poly (first time :yay: ) so both will be convenient. I think this thread has convinced me to try Kona instead this time. Currently, my new plan is Kona dinner around 6:30, then back to the room to have some cake for dessert- I am pumped about ordering a personalized cake for the first time too  I know Kona has GREAT desserts, so maybe we can try them another night!

Our last day we're having lunch at Kona's. I've been trying to get ADRs at Ohana for an early dinner with no luck, thinking DD9 & DS7 would enjoy it. So, I'm pleased to see many people prefer it over Ohana.

They are two different dining experiences. We have eaten at each numerous times, but we prefer the Kona Cafe. I usually sum it up this way; 'Ohana is about quantity, while the Kona Cafe is about quality. You would enjoy both.

jimmalru80, from the look of your post on the Cape May Cafe thread, it would seem you have no problem with quantity either. :rotfl2:

Anyway I have only been to 'Ohana, so until I go to Kona this October, my vote is for 'Ohana.

I think the food quality at Kona is great. I love that restaurant.

I also like Ohana but Kona has the edge on the best tasting food.

I just wanted to say that I went to Ohana's before it changed and enjoyed it very much. I booked adr again for our trip, but ended up having to cancel it and could not rebook it. Thanks to all of the good reviewed about Kona I booked it and was able to get in for May 30. Hope I enjoy it!

83 Days until our reservation at Kona. I am looking forward to it. Wondering if we should also do breakfast there one day as well??

We have eaten at both with children.
We liked both, they were a different dining exoerience.
'OHana was more lively and noisy. The kids were having a ball. We had a table at the windows looking across to the Castle. It was a beautiful view. We were able to see Wishes over dessert. We enjoyed the food and overall it was a great experience.
Our meal at Kona's was much more subdued, although not quiet. The food and service were both very good. There is no view from Kona at all.
I would definitely go back to both.

If you want the experience and the view, go for O'hana. However, if you want excellent food, choose Kona. We have at least one meal at Kona every trip. We've even had a Christmas Eve dinner there!

We ate at both places for our trip in April. We were blown away by O'hana's. It was completely worth every penny and we will be back. We REALLy disliked Kona. That was just what we experienced. I felt it was overpriced and the service was awful. The food was just okay. We will definitely not be going back there. So, obviously my vote is for O'Hana's.
