Which one should we pick?

A couple of details to help you make your choice...4 adults, 1 5.5 year old on the 6th morning at WDW. It will be the last meal for my mother and aunt who are leaving that day. We're staying at the Poly, but this meal will be our first chance to eat there. We're planning on spending the morning at Epcot and the after and evening at MK for the parade/fireworks and hopefully the Wishes dessert party if they'll extend it. Our DD isn't a huge Stitch fan, she says he's rude.:confused3 But, she also goes with the flow and would probably have fun. We're planning on trying to eat around 7:45-8am, if that makes a difference in your decision.

So, where should I book?

Thanks!:worship:

It really depends on whether you would want the character dining experience and how big of eatters you are. We ate at the Ohana breakfast (7:45am) last week when we were there. The food was pretty good. You had your basics, plus fruit and some type of pineapple pastry/bread. It is served family style and you can get more food if you want it. We went for more eggs, bacon and sausage plus more fresh pineapple.

The characters seemed kind of rushed (but my kids are shy so they tend not to talk to the characters, just hugs and take pictures), but other than Lilo & Stitch, you meet with Mickey and I believe Pluto.

I have never eatten at Kona, but I hear the tonga toast is excellent (I'll never know because I'm allergic to cinnamon).

Hope this helps. Have a great time on your trip!

My dad had me book him three breakfast ADR's at Kona for our next trip. He loved the Tonga Toast. I love the Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes. I think the prices are pretty reasonable so we are planning on paying out of pocket and saving our TS credits for other meals.

Yep as Shawnh199 pointed out it really depends on if you want the character experience or not. I have only eaten at Kona for dinner and it was REALLY good. I also hear very good reports about their breakfast too. We have eaten at Ohanas breakfast and it was REALLY good too!!! We all enjoyed our interactions with the characters and Stitch was hilarious!!! So it really just boils down to if you wanna dine with the characters because as far as the food goes they both are good!!!! Hope this helps!

I love both but you have to figure out if you want to pay extra for the character meal. When we did Ohana it was nice because it:
-wasn't crowded
-pineapple bread was amazing and the only reason we may do it again this trip as my kids are a little old now for the characters
-the character interaction was fun because they did a conga around the place with moroccas

Kona
-TONGA TOAST! love this stuff so much! Also-excellent coffee. Since we were on the dining plan we always ended up eating breakfast in the QS place at the Poly though. You could still get the Tonga Toast but faster and cheaper. I would then get my Kona Coffee at the little stand before the Monorail.

Ohana is great to please everyone. The food is very kid friendly and the character interaction is great. who knows...stitch may make your lil one change there mind about him. he's really great w/ kids. You will enjoy the POG juice as well. I could drink a gallon of that stuff!!!

I've done both and both have their good sides -

Ohana's is great if you want to have a character meal with an experience attached. The food on the other hand was nothing to write home about. I also didn't think the meals was diverse enough. If you have special dietary needs you will need to let them know when you make your ADR.

Kona's I like a lot. The food is good and fresh. You also don't have the chaos of the character dining experience.

We have been to both and prefer the food and semi quietness at Kona...Ohana is great for kids and the food is good and you can order the pressed pot coffee from Kona at Ohana

Really? I'm 32 and I still try to fit in at least one Character Meal per trip :rotfl: Is that a bad thing...should I re-assess?

IMHO, its pretty hard to find enough 1 TS sit down meals without characters to last for an entire week, especially if you count meals with some sort of activity/characters. You are at least highly restricting yourself.

Crystal Palace and Cape May both have pretty good buffet food, but if you don't like characters, too bad. We used to just send them on their way, but now we just go along with it, and let the characters spend a little more time with the younger guests.
