I'm trying to decide on a place to eat breakfast before we go to DTD for the day. We like the characters at both, but I've heard so-so things about the food at Chef Mickey's. What are your thoughts?

Hello,
In my opinion Chef Mickey is a must do every trip. We were there last
month. The characters there are Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Donald very good character interaction. The breakfast buffet has a very good selection of food. The quality of food is very good also.It is a very fun,kid kind of restaurant with lots of noise( but in a good way) :) . My kids love it there and we go there every time. Ohana is also very nice it is served family style. The food there is also very good, As I recall they serve I think some kind of pineapple bread, a family style platter of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, and waffles. I also think some fruit, the last time I was at Ohana's for breakfast was 2 years ago so it might have changed. They had Hawaiian Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stich they seem not to stay around the tables too long. I hope this helps you. :wizard:

We love both so I can't sway you one way or the other. You really can't go wrong at O'Hana or at Chef Mickey's for breakfast. I guess it depends on what you want for breakfast. If you want a huge variety then Chef Mickey's is your best bet. However, I'm OK with bacon, sausage, potatoes, waffles and fruit for breakfast so O'Hana is good. Plus their juice is some of the best juice I've every had for breakfast.

"O'hanas is our favorite Breakfast.
Ate at both and find the atmosphere at O'hanas to much
more pleasent and enjoyable.
CM is very loud.
Plus I love the characters at "Ohanas"
Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto.
We've seen Minnie there once also.

Ohana is our favorite and must do every trip. We love the sit down service. Characters don't seem as rushed. Love the view of the MK. Chef Mickys IMO can be hit and miss. We have have tried it numerous times and it's always been so so food wise. You have lots of choices....but being a buffet you can get less then wonderful.

I don't think you can go wrong with either place.....if you want loud and fun (buffet style), go with Chef Mickey's.....if you want a little more relaxed atmosphere (served family style), go with Ohana ;). As far as food goes, I think they are both about equal.

...and you will read so-so things about everything at Disney on this site too. Breakfast at each one of these restaurants surpasses their dinner experiences. Don't get all worked up and worry...both of these are solid choices for breakfast.

I would go with Chef Mickey's because on the most recent DIS Unplugged Podcast, they mentioned how at Chef Mickey's the characters spend more time interating with the kids and at Ohana you basically take a picture with them and they move on right away.

Okay now I'm definitely clueless on which to pick! :goodvibes But I really appreciate everyone's opinions, it definitely helped to give me a feel to both places!! Ugh decisions, decisions...:confused3 Luckily I have the Disboards to help me!! :worship:

For breakfast I would say Chef Mickey's...we are trying it for our trip in Oct...I love ohana's though but have only had dinner there!
