'Ohana or 1900 Park Fare (dinner)?

I'm hoping for some opinions for dinner. I book ADRs Wednesday and we can't make up our minds!

We'll be looking to dine in one of the deluxe resorts on Tuesday, 12/8. MVMCP is that night, so we'll have to leave MK, but would like to view Wishes.

We have a lot of character dining on our list, and CM's was going to be on our list for this night. After reading recent reviews, I'm not so sure anymore.

It will be me, DH and DD5.

Opinions, please! :D

I went to 1900 Park Fare for the breakfast buffet/character meal, and if I remember correctly, there aren't a ton of windows, so it may be difficult for you to get a view of Wishes. It may have been where we were sitting, so hopefully someone who has been more recently or has a better memory than I do can speak to that. While I went for brunch and not dinner, I found the food to be really underwhelming. I have read that the step sisters are hilarious for the dinner meal though.

We are doing Ohana for the first time on our upcoming trip and I am looking forward to it. I think you can see Wishes from inside the restaurant, but hopefully the resident experts on the board will come clarify for you.

Taking into account DD5 and wanting to view Wishes, I would lean towards 1900 PF. BUT, I think the food is better at Ohana! If you could hear the music better for Wishes from the beach at Poly, I might lean that way.

You can't see Wishes from 1900 Park Fare. I'm not sure if that was what you were trying to do or if you'd go outside to view them from by the boat launch maybe? There are no windows at 1900 Park Fare, but Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner there is one of my family's very favorites! We haven't been to 'Ohana for dinner since they took turkey off their menu - it's been a bit.

Yes we were thinking of heading to the dock after dinner if we go there. I know wishes is late enough that we should pull that off.

We are doing 1900 PF dinner on our upcoming trip. We have been to Ohana twice. Do you already have Akershus or CRT? It seems like a 5 year old girl would need some kind of princess meal. If you already have a princess meal, I would learn towards Ohana. It is a little more relaxing, IMO, not to have to get up and get food or deal with people coming to your table.

We're doing Akershus, but not CRT. That's why I'm wavering on this 1900 business.

I would suggest eating at 'Ohana. We did that for our last night last December - which happened to be a MVMCP night just like you are planning. We could see Holiday Wishes - along with piped in music- from our table. We didn't plan for this - just an extra bit of magic! Plus - we love the food at 'Ohana so my vote will always go in that direction!

Keep in mind that Holiday Wishes starts at 9:30. Our 'Ohana ADR was for 8:30. I'm not sure how any Poly construction inhibits viewing the fireworks from the beach/resort property.

I would choose 'Ohana. I would NOT plan to be able to see Holiday Wishes from your table at 'Ohana since a relatively small number of tables have a view of them. Did you want to stay at MK until closing? If possible, I would leave a bit early, ADR between 7 and 7:30, and watch Holiday Wishes from the beach at 9:30. 'Ohana usually is backed up and you will have a wait to be seated.

My advice for 1900PF is similar - we have always had significant waits at 1900PF too - except fireworks are not visible so you will have to plan to watch them from the dock/beach. The Poly view of fireworks is slightly better, closer and more centered, but it isn't a deal breaker. We don't love the food at 1900PF dinner, but the characters are fun.

We have 3 other character meals planned, so I really don't feel like it's a MUST do for characters. I also realized that mom needs to have a choice, too! DH only cares about Coral Reef, so I think I better make this my choice :D Leaning toward Ohana for atmosphere and food choices. I did read they offer kids items if you ask.

We're going back next year for MNSSHP, so maybe we'll do one or the other then!
