O'hana kids items?

I noticed that on the O'hana menu on Deb's site, it mentioned that kids choices were available "by request". If you request those items, do they cost extra? We are on the Dining Plan and trying to make sure we don't pay extra at our meals.

O'hana is the only place I'm worried about DD liking the "regular" choices at the table. (O'hana is mine and DH's favorite! ) I was hoping that the kids menu items would still count on the DDP.


Anyone tried the kids selections at O'hana?

When we went to 'ohanas, the server asked if my kids would like a hot dog or something else. I could have Punched her!!!!!! For one meal out of 6, it would have been nice for them to eat a little salad and real meat, not a fry and hotdog. Not that I make my kids eat all healthy on vacation, this was just one time when they didn't have a kids menu and they felt like they were stuck eating grown up food. Eat or starve sort of thing, but the server took care of that

So to answer your question, yes, just ask, and they did not charge us extra for it.

They'll bring you whatever kids' items Kona has. My kids had chicken fingers and grilled cheese. For dessert, they had the option of the bread pudding 'Ohana serves or just plain vanilla ice cream.

The cost is the same as the 'Ohana price, regardless of what the kids end up eating. That didn't matter to us since we were on the DDP because both are one TS credit.

My DS was 2 at the time and he ate a little of our food (salad and some meat) the waiter asked if we wanted something else and I accepted. He brought out uncrustables and a large plate of fries for him. We were never charged even though it was extra and our son loved the dessert (bread pudding with ice cream) I think he had the whole dish.

My cousins children ages 4/ 6/ 9 ate off the Kona childs menu.
