Wow, I couldn't believe the description on the Ohana menu page:confused3
I always thought WDWinfo just listed unbiased descriptions on there, not opinion.

I've never eaten here, but it seems to get great reviews on here.

I was wondering: is it "all you care to eat" for dinner?

I don't like several of the dishes offered (I don't like wings, noodles, shrimp, and pork), but there are some other things that do look good to me (the salad, pork dumplings, veggies, and grilled turkey). I wondered if I could get seconds on salad & pork dumplings if I get hungry? My SO will likely enjoy all of it.

Thanks!:goodvibes

I am really surprised at that level of opinion - I love Ohana, and have never had a bad meal there. And yes - all you can eat!

Wow ! DH and I didn't care for O'hana for dinner (loved it for breakfast) but it certainly does not deserve that kind of review . Harsh !

That review seems kind of harsh and out of line. I've never had a bad meal at Ohana.

Ate there in October, was really looking forward to it, but was incredibly disappointed in service and food.

They are really harsh...for the other restauarnts they pretty much remain unbiased but this was is definitely negative

The reviews come from the comments made by Kevin Klose on the Disunplugged podcast about his experiences at the restaurants.

I do not know which episode the O'hanas one is - but it is one of the classics.

Come over to the Podcast board and they will tell you which episode it is in - and probably quote from it.

We love Kevin's reviews

Oh no! I just added it to my ADRs last night!

I thought the review of the entertainment was a little harsh...I mean isn't there choatic, loud entertainment in a bunch of the restaurants...I am going there with a 2 year old, not for a romantic evening...

Oh well, hope the food is edible, I want to see the Polynesian anyhow (and maybe convince DH we should stay there in 10 years when we save up enough money :lmao: )

Don't worry about it! Everyone has their own opinion, and there are plenty of loyal Ohana lovers here! I personally didn't see the draw, but I think I am in the minority. I am at least very glad I tried it, and it may end up being one of your faves!

Have fun!

I agree that what one person loves another may dislike. We tried 'Ohana for dinner a few years ago and came away very disappointed. After reading many reviews here on the Dis, DS13 and I tried it again last August and we both absolutely loved it. The only reason that we aren't planning to go back this year is that we want to try some restaurants that we have never eaten at and a few more signatures. Yes the 'entertainment' is loud and definitely geared toward the younger kids but that's what Disney is all about. (We will definitely be going for breakfast though ... love those eggs!)

IMO, the food isn't spectacular and I personally can't take all of the noise while I'm trying to eat. Lots of people really love it, though. Different strokes.

I like the food, but I can't stand the "lounge act". I find it incredibly annoying.

We have a 9:45pm reservation (only time available for dinner during our stay) next week. I booked it because it seemed to be a 'must do" and I am taking kids and it's our first time at Disney. It sounded fun and I thought the kids might eat the food. The time we got is not the best, but I don't mind it if the dinner/experience is worthwhile. If it is not, then I'd rather skip it and eat earlier somewhere else.

For those who were disappointed, was it the food or the experience? I am expecting loud and chaotic. I'm going with kids so I never expect quiet at dinner. The food is more my priority. It's not worth it to me if the food is terrible. We are on the dining plan but 1TS is as good here as another place and I don't want to waste it on bad food.

I wouldn't have expected a review to be part of information about a restaurant like that (maybe as a tag to it, but not in the description).

We LOVE the food at O'hana and go every trip...I never understood why people did not like the food, especially that yummy salad! We get seconds on whatever we want. The hula lady is a bit annoying, but fun for the kids.

Kevin's reviews are classic. Come listen to the podcast - it is fun!

But, I don't agree with him on many reviews. We loved Ohana. Don't let one reviewer sway you unless they are saying stuff about the cleanliness or health hazards. Opinions on taste and atmosphere are just that - opinons. :)
