'Ohana ? For Poly Guests

We will be staying at the Poly in Sept. The only resies we could get were for 9:40. The dining rep told me that as a Poly guest I could probably get seated sooner through the concierge desk. Has anyone experienced this? Were you accommodated as a Poly guest?

Gosh I hope that's true! I haven't been able to get an adr since I started trying June 22nd. And Ohana was one of the reasons I was able to sweet talk DH into the Poly, and now we can't eat there? We were at least able to get an ADR for breakfast and for Kona dinner, so that's good, but still, it's frustrating...

I don't think that's true because then they would need to have that same rule at all the resorts guests staying at with popular restaurants, if they happen to have a late ADR.

I don't think it's true either, but you certainly have a better chance because you will be there all the time - as in more opportunities to stop by the podium and ask.

And of course, things open up all the time with cancellations, so you might get lucky.

1) Yes and No.
2) The concierge (lobby or club floor) at Poly do not have extra "pull".
3) But, there are still two that have a "dining override".
4) With the override, they can slide you into ANY table service at WDW. *
5) At any time, any date, regardless how booked.
6) Without that override, they can't really do any better for you.
7) At least, no better than you can do with phone calls.
8) If you happen to get one of them, and they like you, they usually can help.

* Exceptions are HDDR and Luau. Once booked, there is no place for sliders. All the tables are booked, so sliding you in and pushing back other ADR's is not possible like in other eateries. As an example, there are AT LEAST 15-20 extra tables overbooked daily for CRT (more than capacity). This pushes a lot of ADR's back.

A lot depends on how many are in your party, too. At the right times of year, and September isn't bad, a party of two can often get seated just showing up and waiting a little. Quite a few people make reservations and never show up. There are no guarantees, so it's always good to have a back-up plan for another restaurant.
