Help me choose - should we do Ohana for breakfast or dinner? "We" is myself, DH, DS (5), DFIL, and DMIL. None of us have been to Ohana ever.

Thanks!

I have had dinner there before very good breakfast i am doing Christmas day this year. I have heard alot of good about Breakfast and since Iam flying out Christmas night will at least have one meal on Christmas day

We have done both and enjoyed both. It's really hard to pick one over the other because they are different.

I would decide what the plans for that day are and then base it on that. I like to do TS breakfasts on non park days.

it really depends on what atmosphere you are looking for

the dinner is a carnivores dream, starts off with a very yummy salad, potstickers, low mein noodles, broccoli and chicken wings
then 3 sauces, and the scewers of peel and eat shrimp, porc, turkey and steak ending off with the famous banana bread pudding and ice cream
there is coconut races for the kids, but it is pretty chaotic there at night, and a very heavy meal. Everyone should try it once, but it is not among my favorites

the breakfast is very pleasant and much quieter, a beautiful view of MK, starting off with a fruit platter and sweet breads, the very best sweet breads.
then a platter with creamy scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, potatoes and of course mickey waffles. they also serve juice(tropical frunch type juice) and coffee.
the characters are great here, although Lilo is a bit of a flirt, lol. stitch usually picks on mickey, last time they had a jedi sword fight.
all that to say that we prefer the breakfast, not because of the quiet, we loved the chaos of whipering canyon cafe.
hopefully the info will help you make a decision

ooh that's a tough question, have done both and love both! I guess I always feel I'm getting more for my money at dinner ( find the costs of character breakfasts hard to swallow) and the food and activities going on at dinner are fab.
having said that, breakfast seems slightly less chaotic than dinner time at ohana, the breads are to die for and the characters are a lot of fun.
I think if you are going to be meeting the characters in the parks anyway or at other meals then the dinner has the edge, ohana dinner is a unique experience.

Never been there for breakfast, but I'm not a fan of breakfast foods. But the dinner was excellent!

I think I enjoyed the dinner a bit more than the breakfast. Both the food and service were excellent, I'm just not that into the character meals so breakfast for me was only OK.

I like both a lot.

but I'd have to say...

Dinner

because you can't get a Lapu Lapu :drinking1 at breakfast! :rotfl2:

Can you?? :rolleyes1

DINNER....absolutely a must-do on our list!! When its done well, it is SOOOO good! :thumbsup2 We found the recipe for the pineapple bread pudding with bananas foster sauce and have it in "remembrance" all the time! LOL

Only did bk there and it was sooo good. The juice and the sausage delish!! I will try dinner there but NOT the luau show. That show is silly and loooong.:dance3:

If it makes a difference, breakfast has characters. Dinner has no characters, but games for the kiddies.

We prefer breakfast, DH was not happy with dinner there except for the dessert which was incredible!

We did the luau show in 2005. The show was fine but the food wasn't very good at all.

As far as Ohana we like the dinner. It's like a Brazilian steak house type dinner. The meat just keeps on coming.

We just got back from a 10 night trip.

Everyone in our group (me, DH, my parents, kids 11, 6, 4) voted dinner at Ohana as their favorite meal. Everything was great-- the food, the service, the games/interaction, and we enjoyed the atmosphere of the resort. :thumbsup2

Oddly, my parents did a Deluxe Dining trip last year with my two adult sisters and 3yo niece. Ohana breakfast was the only meal of the trip that they had any complaints about and both my parents admitted that they would have never gone back if I hadn't booked the dinner reservation for this trip. At the end of dinner, they said it was the one meal that we must do every trip and they were trying to book another reservation during our stay.

love them both, but we are not bib breakfast eaters, so I pic dinner....it's my favorite and we are eating there twice in Dec including my birthday!:woohoo:

Thanks, leadfootlevi for bringing this up. I was wondering the same thing about Ohana, and have decided on breakfast.
