We have a group going in October and have never done Ohana's. We are all in our 30's. Is this a good place or something to do with kids? :confused3

We just returned from a week's stay. Ohanas was, without question, the worst meal we had the entire trip. The hula hoop activity was fun for kids, but we thought the food quality was very poor. We would not go back -- with or without kids. There are too many good places to eat in WDW to spend time and money there, IMHO.

i think a group is ok, as 2 we were ignored, shoved in the back and forgotten about( picture Oliver twist..."please can i have more sir") the food was ok. we wouldn't hurry back. we like wcc tons better and the menu items we got were better too

Having just spent a week at the Poly I can tell you that 'Ohanas was packed every night, and not just with kids.

We ate breakfast there twice and the food, service and the character interaction was very good. Not that we really cared about the character interaction since it was just my wife and I (this was the only character meals we had and only because we were staying at the Poly).

My recommendation is that if you would like what is one menu go ahead and try it. You will get both positive and negative reviews of every place to eat in WDW so take them all with a grain of salt (including this one), then decide if it looks like a place you would like to try. The only way to know for sure if you will like it is to try it

We (4 adult in our 30/40's with no kids) plan to eat there on our next trip. Before this thread I had heard excellent reviews of the restaurant. I still plan to dine there, but ask for a table away from the kids race area.

We really enjoy Ohana. The food is good and the service has always been very good. We usually have dinner there every trip. It's enjoyable for adults, (though not quiet) ask for a table behind the grill/bar area if you want to be further from the area where the kids do the coconut races.

We ate there on Saturday night. The place was packed. We were very glad that we had priority seating ressies. My 11 yr old who is usually very adventuresome didn't like the food. My 7 yr old loved the BBQ wings. Both kids ended up with something off the standard kid's menu. Chicken tenders and cheeseburger. I liked the grilled turkey and steak. Hubby liked everything, but didn't love it.

We had dinner there two weeks ago on an anniversary trip, and we enjoyed it. We were definitely not ignored, but we were in the mood to have fun, and I think our cousin could tell. DH and I were there last trip with the kids, and we already knew that we love the food, and we are definitely not adventuresome. The wings and the potatoes are awesome, the first trip the steak was the best but this last trip I think the pork edged it out.
We LOVE the drinks here, by the way!

We were a group of 5 and had a blast (all adults). Food was great, service was good, and it was fun to be in an active environment.

Also the games are not just for kids, there were lots of adults doing the hula hoop contest when we went.

It's one of DH's faves.

Thank you for all your help everyone! :flower:

I think you would all enjoy Ohana's. We were there in June and really enjoyed it. They did not do the kid stuff while we were there so I'm not sure what that does to the atmosphere.

I would consider it a good place with or without the kids.

Make sure you have some pineapple bread!!

Hubby and I agree with you. Ohana's food is horrible. We were an adult only party when we ate there. If you want to go to Poly for dinner, go to Kona Cafe, the menu is outstanding, food is wonderful, great service, nice friendly atmosphere. Actually Kona is one of our favorites for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Yummy!!!!

Thanks for the advice, Webray. I'm glad to know we're not the only ones who thought Ohana was awful.

Based on your recommendation, we will definitely try Kona next time. In fact, as we stood waiting to go in to Ohana I kept looking over at Kona wondering whether we were making a mistake. We certainly did. We had kids with us eager to do the hula hooping. But, as I said we'd never go again, with kids or without.

Its a great time with or with out. We have gone with adults only and with children had a great time every time there.

We just ate at Ohanas this past week and it was the best meal of our trip. The kids are still even ranting about how good it was! Some of the best steak that I have ever had.
