'Ohana Fireworks Time

We have a 9:15 dinner reservation at 'Ohana in November. Will we be able to see fireworks from there (if we request a window seat, of course)?

There are few seats w views. If fireworks are a priority do not assume you will be able to see them

Never count on getting a fireworks view at a dining venue. EVER. You have a 9:15 ressie? You may not even be seated on time. What's guaranteed is that whoever is at that window seat or whatever, isn't leaving the table until AFTER the fireworks. So you'd more than likely be placed somewhere else.

This is a big pet peeve of people and Illuminations fireworks. Lots think they can get a 9pm ressie and get to see the fireworks.

As the other poster said here... it's kinda a choice... you either want to eat, or you want to see the fireworks.

Great point! I hadn't even thought about the people who were already seated. I only have the reservation since it was the only one I could get so far. We'll still eat there whether there's fireworks or not!

Yeah, there's so many variables that work against you when you try and get "fireworks dining views". First and foremost, you have to get a reservation that will have you seated BEFORE the fireworks start. You also then have to *hope* that you can get placed in a decent seat. Asking at check in is fine, but more than likely, it's a no go. You also have to factor in that some places may not seat you right away. There's people with ressies that don't even get seated until 45 minutes PAST their ressie time. Then there's the people that were at those tables that are killing time until the fireworks.

It's just a near impossible thing. Then you get the Illuminations spots and people can just walk up and stand at the rail in front of you anyway... I'm sure there's some good threads/reports here about that too.

Learn from my mistake. Back in 2012 I booked a late Ohana. Mainly because it was all I could get. But also because of fireworks. With 4 kids ages 7-13 that were tired from parks it was a bad idea. One slept through dinner literally and it still cost me a TS dining credit anyway. Didn't let it ruin are trip. I still got a Lapu Lapu! But wouldn't do it again.

Oh and we did not see the fireworks but for a tiny glimpse.

Thanks for the insight! We have a little guy, so the late dinner would be rough for him also. Looking forward to trying a Lapu Lapu!
