'Ohana: Does this sound right??

Ate at 'Ohana a few weeks ago ... noticed several very large tables in the center of the restaurant.

Today I'm at 90 days out to make priority seating arrangements for a February family reunion, and decided to take the gang (of 13 people) to 'Ohana. Called Disney group dining for one of the large tables ... but was told those in the middle only seat 12 and we'd have to take two smaller tables of 8 and 6.

I KNOW the groups we saw there earlier this month were FAR larger than just 12 people.

For you experts: does this sound right? I took the two tables and have a confirmation number ... but the person I spoke to also seemed unsure about some other stuff so I'm thinking that maybe she was new and I should try to correct this?

Would really prefer one table. Let me know if anyone has advice - thanks!!

We were there in July and went with a group of 8. We were seated at the center table closest to the fire pit and I don't recall having any extra seats at the table. Maybe the center tables closer to the back of the restaurant are larger. Even if you have to sit at separate tables, just request that they are together. The tables are very close to each other so it shouldn't be a big deal. Anyway, you'll all be so busy eating the delicious food you won't want to talk! :D

Have fun!!

We had a group of 15 last year and were told that we would have to split up into 2 tables. When we arrived at Ohana, they seated us all at the same table, and yes it was one of those large middle tables. While we were there they set up another table for 16, and then took it down and made it 2 tables for 6. It looked like Ohana could make tables of just about any size.

When we dined at 'Ohana in July there was a very large table next to us. It seemed like it was a sports team sitting there, adolescent boys and several adults. There were easily 20 at the table and it was past the pit area and near the windows overlooking MK.

The large center tables are actually several tables put together. They accomodate various group sizes. There's only so much the reservations people can see from a computer system, so they will frequently warn you that you'll be at two tables, but when you show up, they restaurant will most likely put you all together. It's still possible you'll be split up, the restaurant tries to plan ahead for big parties.

We've been to Ohana various times with parties of more than 10 and we've never been split up.

I would suggest calling the restaurant manager a few days before your dinner and asking him if you could be sat together. I have known of several wedding parties that have had rehearsal dinners at O'Hanas and they were able to accomodate them.
